And you guys thought LT5 parts are expensive $40k for exhaust :(
Notice the cam chains look just like ours they have bigger sprockets probably why it can make peak power @ 7400rpm.

This is a bad @ss car they had me in mind when they build this
2500 lbs 630hp NA this was 20 years ago some day my Z will be that light :-D

The F1 is just a superb feat of engineering and design. No expense spared.

The McLaren is no doubt a great car but in the area of weight it doesn't mean much at that level. Case in point the Bugatti Veyron will out run that car at a hefty 4200 lbs. No matter a drag race or f1 it's all about getting it to and keeping it on terra firma. I'd prefer a well-balanced car any day. It’s also interesting that the f1 narrowly edged out the infamous lingenfelter 415 car in 1998 fastest street car road and track article. Fast forward to the mp4-12c (heavy 3100lbs v-8) more technology and better handling. Of course I will exclude the c5 thru c7 platforms which seem to think putting extra weight on live axles is balance with the heft being the driver.

It won Lemans in 1995, so I think that makes it a significant car

Note in the specs. It seems you can still just beat him in the Qtr. Mi., Pete.

The Bugatti has over 1000hp and that's a huge advantage. Give the F1 1000hp instead of 620 and let's see who wins.

The F1 gets very hot inside when you are driving it.
But still fun to drive!

The Bugatti is powerful and fast in a straight line but the McLaren F1 or the later one are so much better road racing cars it isn't even close. They are among the most balanced, powerful road racing cars commercially available ever and are not twitchy to drive. The Veyron is an exercise in German power but is fairly pathetic against several other sophisticated road racing cars, specifically against McLaren's. The Veyron is a tank when it comes to road courses but in a straight line 1,000 hp is still 1,000 hp.

I like the McClaren's a lot but it takes a big wallet. Actually, I like the McLaren's better than the Ferraris which at these high horsepower rates can be very twitchy to drive on a road course.
