Hi dave,
I see you have been a member since 2004 and have just posted in the last couple of days. what's up with that? Have you gotten your ZR-1 yet? What part of canada do you live in. Welcome.

Hi John

I've been in love with ZR-1's since they came out but could never afford one as I lived in England till last year where even a base model Corvette costs outrageous money to buy, run and insure.

Last year I moved to Ontario, Canada and am now (finally!!) in the position to actually buy one.

I have posted a couple of things in the past but I always felt a bit of a 'pretender' so I was mostly a 'lurker' till just recently.

Thanks for the welcome!

What year are you looking for, any in particular. How close are you to Victoria, BC. I met a fella in a car club from there that indicated he would be selling his '94 'cause he really wanted a triple black C5 Convertible. I think he paid $33k Canadian and said that was a good price. We could check with him. You got any your looking at?

John. I'm on the other side from BC, though that isn't necessarily a problem. I can work around that and have family over in BC. I'm ideally looking for a 94 or 95 though to be honest I have been dreaming of these for so long I'd take anything :-)

$33k canadian IS a good price and I'd certainly pay that if it checked out. Please feel free to pass on my email - davekelly@primalcreation.com or let me have his details and I'll contact him if he's still selling.

I thought I had a line on 1 in Quebec but that fell through yesterday. Seemed the dealer didn't realise that ZR-1s didn't come with an autobox ;-) I also have been emailing a couple of people with 91s one in California one other in BC, Canada. I'd prefer a Canadian car if I can find one because the process of importing is a bit of a PIA, but worth it for the right car.

Thanks for the welcome Tom. ZR-1s absolutely rule. I still remember reading the auto press in Europe in 90 and the complete shock that this 'American car' could kick the arse of the best of Europe. I've been dreaming ever since.
