Playing around w car the last few days re: another issue that I'lll post about.
So finally got it to run and move it out of garage. Selective Ride light is on, so no big but it never went out once I got rolling. Did the ALDL and got a 12 and 23.
It should have gone out I think but. I may pull BATT and clear it, then see if it comes back.

If you don't get a VSS signal after 3 starts, the selective ride check light illuminates -I think you know that. It has happened to me several times also. I do think there is a minimum speed you must get to for it to register and clear the condition. There should be mention of it in the section of the FSM. I don't know what code 23 is specifically. is there a chance one of the actuators is not working?

Mike you are right on, that is code 23
23 = If you start the car more than 3 times and do not move the car this code will set. Drive 3-6 feet and the light will go out.

Yes that's always been my experience but this time the light stayed on no matter how far or fast I drove. As from 12 , 23 was the only code that showed up when I shorted the ALDL. So I have pulled the BATT and we'll see what happens today.

Looking at the FSM it indicates code 23 as a Manifold Air Temp sensor. Low temperature indicated. Correct?

Franke,
We're talking about the data stream from the Selective Ride, not the motor.

It's odd that it doesn't go out. It should go out after a roll. Dom you did clear out all the codes with the scanner I'm assuming? Then yes the battery reset might be it

Turned the ignition ON and OFF probably 20-25 times, and started the motor another 10-15. Maybe after a while it sets a hard code in history. I disconnected the BATT today and took it out for a run. No light. Issue solved.
