Well it was closing day for the last Friday night test and tune at the local track and despite scattered showers the track regained open. Downside was due to low attendance they decided to shut down at 930 instead of 11. That ruled out any cool down period as we got there at 8-815. On the Brightside there were about 6-8 cars there total so we had a great time making vids of all the runs.

So, 1 bar more than 3/4 tank of gas, full 44psi in All tires slammed on 550/425 springs and dampers set to 14/11... Basically exactly the way the car is driven at full operating temp..

Best run was a 12.78 with a 2.28 60' but I wasn't trying too hard to launch and break parts i just wanted to see the mph which was right where I expected. The best mph was 117.34, 116.89 and 5 more 116s.

Just wanted some baseline mph numbers before I have the injector housing and plenum ported and the flywheel done over the winter (and possibly 3.73s).

Just thought I'd share ! Will post some pics and vids shortly :)

Great idea to get the baseline numbers before the work. Better than a dyno run. One thought for you: I would recommend you consider the 4.10s if you are going to the expense of a gear swap. The 4.10s are very tractable around town and provide (according to Marc H) about an 18% increase in torque to the wheels. Sixth becomes very useable on the highway. And you end of right about redline in fourth at the end of the quarter. With the stock 3.45 gears you are right about redline in third at the end. The 3.73s would be in the middle. Anyway, just an idea for you. I have had 4.10s in both the 93 and the 95 and love them.--Bob

I had hoped to get some stock baseline runs before the headers and chip but I ended up tearing into the car before I could :/

I hear you on the 4.10s . I don't disagree with Marc I understand what he states in terms of acceleration % but in my eyes each gear is also achieving a lower speed in the end. After doing 4.10s in my 93, I went to 3.73s and was far happier. I found first to be very 'fun' but difficult to launch. Since I plan to always be on a street tire capable of 190mph at any time on a stiff lowered suspension I believe 4.10s will just make it very hard to launch.
Yesterday I realized that yes first gear is quite long and makes the car feel quite heavy but once she gets going she rips through the gears.

With the tire diameter I'm running I'm thinking 3.73 because it puts me closer to 3.83.. Or maybe a 3.92 which would make it closer to 4.02. Still debating it. It's pretty much a given this engine needs gear considering it revs so much higher than an LT1 and both came with the same rear ratio. It's my guess gm didn't have enough money to change the rear gear.

44psi? isn't that really high?

It is it keeps my wheels from being bent on impact and worry free at 175 plus which did happen on the way home :) I will probably drop the psi down to 38/40ish I set it high just to be on the safe side.

What out for the OPP.lol

I always pumped up fronts to max PSI for drags. God idea to get a baseline.

Did you run at Toronto International?

Haha nothing to watch out for I'm far from a drag racer! Yes I was at Cayuga or Toronto international as it's now called. Was pretty awesome being the last Friday night test and tune.. No one was there. I probably could have made 40 runs if I wanted but I just wanted to see the mph.

I have one question, my vaccum pump cycles on/off quite fast so I know there's a leak. Is there a possibility during a 1/4 run that the secondaries could be closing on me throughout the run as it loses vaccum? I tried hitting the limiter twice and went to 4th a few times and the mph was pretty much dead on.. Never experienced that happen before... Unless I'm hitting the traps at top I third

117 doesn't sound like your secondaries are shutting down. Oh wait. This is Canada. Is that 117kph? :sign10::sign10:;)
