Label Under Hood

Did forum search and found nothing. Most all ZR1's have Mobile 1 Oil tag under hood, but I have notice a few early Z's lack this tag. The early tag just says Corvette. You can clearly see the tag I am referring to in the photos of the ZR1 in France in the Members Rides Section. Any clue as to when the change was made?

I think it was 93, I'm sure some who knows will chime in.

Yeah 92 or 93 was the switch, I prefer the older emblem personally

My 92 has the corvette bowling green emblem. The 93 started the Mobil emblems

If I recall #88 has an EPA exempt sticker under the hood indicating it may have been a test car..correct?

This I believe is correct - in '92 there was an oil label for the LT1 GM part # 10225998 but I don't recall ever seeing one "1st hand"! In '93 the GM part # 10236268 was applicable to all Corvettes. That's the one we're most familiar with.

It does. Some disagreement about what it means. I've ordered the build sheet. Gordon Killebrew said there would be a code on it if the car was built for engineering. Effective date of exemption is 1987 so that is throwing a red flag for some that have seen it. I have a pic of the label. I'll post it when I figure out how to do it.
