Nitto 555's
The old Sumotomo's that were on the car when I bought it a few years back were hard and worn out.
What a freaking difference!

Yes I know... And i wish I had time to participate in the group buy. They had zero rear tread and the fronts were toast.

Sumitomos suck. There Ive said it they are cheap and cheerful. Based upon the difficultly on the GY D3s in the future this is a shoe we will all start to look at although some of the membership raves about the michelin pilot sports as well

And that 345 still looked stretched on the 17x13 wheels.
Nitto makes a 555R 345X17 ? No they don't make a 345-17.

I'm in the same boat, Ron. When I bought the 95 Z in 2012 it came with Sumis. They were manufactured in late 2009 and early 2010, so they are not too old. And I have had Sumis before. They are cheap and perfectly adequate for most street driving. But mine are getting a bit hard like yours so maybe next spring I will get some new ones also. And the Nittos are not very expensve either--about $135 for fronts and about $200 for rears--or $665 a set before mounting and balancing on one website. Looks like you got four 555s. Did you consider getting the drag radial or 05s or 01s for the rear? --Bob

No, this car is a daily driver with some spirited driving... Expecting some long drives where rain may be possible. I hear these 555s are good all around.
I have an extra set of wheels for the track Ruby but i'll probably go with the 888s.
Cheers,
