I thought it would be another year or so before any C6 ZR-1 fell below 65K.
Well here you are 32k mile ZR1 for 64.9K.

I haven't been monitoring ZR1 prices but that seems like one hell of a good deal.

It's a 3ZR and clear title.
I've seen a few under $60k though....
Great deal and there will be more this winter!

I am almost positive that all the ZR1 were 3ZR. That is the first one that I saw for less than 70K.

There are a few 1ZR packages which don't include navigation, telescoping steering wheel, and maybe heated seats and some other minor electonics. The most noticeable difference is the leather wrap dash, and accented stitching. The deals are out there. If looking for one, let me know.
I wonder how many of these C6 ZR1's were actually broken in properly? Remember that yahoo that that owned a GM dealership and made the video of him ragging on BRAND NEW C6/ZR1. IIRC there was gravel involved as well.
Well the video got on youtube. He deserved it.
Here is the new supercharged GEN 5 SBC LT4 engine. The ZO7 version should be 600hp and the ZR1'like edition will be aropund 700hp.

Hello Hiog,
How should they be broken correctly?
Thanks,

Mechanically, nothing of great significance. Seat upgrades from 2011 and 2012. Special edition packages for the centennial year of Chevrolet with the Carbon Flash (Black) paint and in 2013 you have the 60th Anniversary Edition.
The Cup Tire and wheel package, which was more track oriented was a nice option and the ability to order the brake calipers in different colors.

Avoiding WOT launches, high rpm, hard braking, lugging engine for the first few miles. You know, back it off the car transporter and immediatley take it to the track with no miles on it.
Not as critical as it once was I'm sure, but IMO its always nice to allow for at least SOME break in. I'm sure others will disagree.
Pretty, but not as pretty as my 23 year old engine.
I agree, the LT5 has the looks department covered.

Joe not looking for a C6 ZR-1 yet. There are still two more C4 ZR-1 that I would like to get first. Now that does not mean if a 60th or 100th anniversary car became available at a reasonable price I would not reconsider my options.
Having a 40th and 50th Anniversary cars is pushing me towards the 60th Anniversary car.

The carfax shows this to be a three owner vehicle and it has gone through two sets of tires in 32k miles. Serviced regularly though. Bob

That is about right. The Sport cup tire has a UTQG rating of 80. If I remember correctly the PS2 is rated at 220.

Wow, and that's certified pre-owned (so some kind of warranty) and it's at a dealer ...

Thanks Joe for the information. The 2013 z caught my eye but I am not familiar with the C6 zr1's. I am going to test ride one this weekend. This one is a 2010. They seam to be holding their value.

That is a good idea. Once the L88 hits the streets with greater than 600hp, New body, New interior the ZR1 will be a Corvette of the past Just like our C4 ZR-1. It is a shame but it is the truth.

Sounds like you need to order an L88 and sell the Callaway back to me. ;)

Where can I get info on this "new" L88? Is it a replacement for the ZR1?

There is no information at this point GM will release the car in January. The ALMS teams cannot use the current LT1 engine for the race cars so it is my speculation that the L88 will be released in January. It will be the replacement for the Z06.

Maybe they can use my 216 Nailhead until they get the new engine!

Here is a pic of the new LT4/L88 supercharged GEN 5 engine. There are 2 new engines on the way, a 600hp and 700hp version. Sort of like the 556hp GEN 4 LSA in the Cadillac CTS-V and the Camaro ZL1 and the C6 ZR1 Vette/638hp GEN 4 LS9.
http://i1202.photobucket.com/albums/bb373/Paul_Schermerhorn/blownGEN5.jpg (http://s1202.photobucket.com/user/Paul_Schermerhorn/media/blownGEN5.jpg.html)
The GEN 5 LT1 Stingray crate engine is available complete in both a dry sump and wet sump version. Forged crank/rods/pistons on a base V8 engine.
460hp@ 6000rpm/465 lb/ft torque@4600rpm
p/n 12657236 Gets you a wet sump complete engine
p/n 12657246 Gets you a complete dry sump version.
Cost is $10,700, less expensive than the 427cid LS7 and out torques LS7 until 4000rpm using 376 cubes, LT1 is with 5 lb/ft of LS7 at its torque peak. 90 percent of peak torque available from 3,000 rpm to 5,500 rpm. Has more power density at 74hp/liter than LS3 and LS7.
Over 10,000,000 hours of computer ECU usage on these GEN 5 engines, mostly in the cylinder heads. Direct injection and forced induction are a match made in heaven. The injected fuel is used to cool the incomming air, which allows for more static compression, or boost.
The good old days are here.
