Morrison's Silver Z is a 1990 wearing the newer Z bodywork. Anyone have pictures of the 24 Hour emblems on the car? Those were neat, didn't look right on the car, but neat.

The silver car really looks great with the Dymag wheels.

yeah that is the main thing, but just the silver too, I guess those combined..

I know the Sledgehammer has the Callaway body.. but I do like the silver on Tommy's car, especially with the black Halo

Wonder what the story was behind not offering the ZR in silver?

I think the barrels on those Dymags would look great polished. Just the right amount of shine.

All though I have seen polished Dymags; I don't think polishing Magnesium is recommended!!!

magnesium tends to turn black quickly alot of effort to maintain the shine

My Challenge car had polished Dymags for some period of time. I may try to polish them and see how long it lasts...not very long if I had to guess....

Silver was not available on any Corvette in the ZR-1 years 90-95, that's why.

There is another on the west coast... Trying to remember there names, a father/son team that brought a silver Z to the Vegas events. I think Brandon was the son but the father's name escapes me... It's been a while...

I was just making the comment from an aesthetics point. Whether it was practical to do or not is not something I was suggesting. Just a polished look up against the silver would be cool IMO.

If you could find a set of the fake Dymags that are made of Aluminum; they would polish up nicely!!!

No you are right alot of old hot rodders do it, just takes alot of work. I think the magnesium fear is overplayed.....go on ebay and look at all of the bare gasser wheels for sale and then restored and put on vehicles.

There are a few more pictures of this car floating around somewhere. One of the things I find interesting is with the early prototype cars and the Mules is they were built in colors that production ZR-1s were never offered in.There is picture somewhere of an early car in silver, one of the headlights is stuck halfway up.If I ever have to repaint my car it will be an off silver with super fine metallic.Ive been in touch with a guy that has a water jet company and asked about some custom emblems if it ever got that far.A silver Bleeder, ooooooooooooooh yea baby!

don't forget, gm had other colors pre-1990. two tones, silver, light blue...those were standard colors when the mules were being tested

Much better IMHO. The black halo, the dymags, very classy.

I always wanted a silver one, but now days silver is one of the most popular colors in the marketplace, now not so much.

That SoCal silver one has been around since the early days. It got clipped when nearly new, and the owner changed it to silver.

It sounds crazy, but because there were no other silver Vettes in that time period, they should have gone to a Cadillac silver (deep, fine, metallic) and painted ALL ZR-1's silver. Engine to match, "active suspension" style raised hood, and ZR-1 specific wheels.

I think you would see some way better auction prices recently if they'd made the car more distinctive. JMHO :)

IF my white car survived the last winter , it was going to be painted silver in the spring.

But then again if my aunt had ............... well you know that saying.
