Hi Gang! I have been dissatisfied with the look of the vacuum booster, and the computer and huge wiring loom plopped on top of the vacuum booster. The master and vac booster were getting tired at 260,000 miles. Since I am in the business of custom brake conversions. I built a HYDROBOOST unit for my car. This one is Silver Sparkle Powdercoated. Soon, I will remove the top side of the engine, and powdercoat plenum, cam covers, and IH to match. The stopping power is incredible! The Hydroboost really pulls the car down in a hurry.

Does this system run off the P/S pump?

Based on the pic the HB could have it's own pump.

PBB,

Are you a vendor?

I have hydro boost brakes in my syclone, less clutter, considerably more clamping power. With vacuum brakes I could only hold 7 psi on the brakes, but with hydro boost I can hold over 12 psi.I used a set up out of a 95 astro van, turned it upside down so the lines were more direct to the ps pump.

from your post in another thread:

The piston size in the calipers is small. The C5 calipers are much larger pistons. Nice, but that requires a larger master cylinder to provide the needed volume. C5's and C6's used 1" masters. The bolt pattern on the C4 boosters does not allow for master cylinder upgrading.

You can install a 1" Master from a 98-later F-body on the ZR-1 it will bolt up.. needs a spacer (or the end drilled) to get it just right.

So with some of these guys doing C6 Z06 brakes all around, what Master do you suggest? will a 1" be enough?

THEN, which master is correct as you want to be sure the bias is correct front to rear too right?

I'm interested in where you moved the computer ...
