View Full Version : Cam Upgrade Vs Emissions Inspections
We have emissions inspection requirements here in Atlanta GA. I have read that removing the secondary throttle plates can make it difficult to pass. How about a mild cam upgrade?

With headers catback, highflow cats, Marc's prom I still have to put the stock prom back in to pass. Hopefully with the work Marc's doing on it now and a good tune I should be able to pass with out changing proms. I'll let you know in Dec.
I forget, are you getting it cammed as well?
I have the typical mods i.e. porting, headers, high flow exhaust plus an unknown performance chip and passed without issue. I would love to bump up the cam just a tad but would not be happy if she cant pass emissions. I am spoiled working with out consequences for so many years on my 72. I bet you are losing sleep at night in anticipation....I would be!

It depends on the sniffer pipe test vs the treadmill. If Atlanta is using the treadmill you will not pass. Sniffer maybe if everything Cats tune etc are running perfect. GC
I forget, I think that as long it is OBD compliant, OBD I I believe, they just plug into that and do not run it on the drum.
