I might be able to get my car to a friends garage today , and was wondering if I change the mufflers and x pipe will I need to do anything to the chip etc ? codes ? I finally got my SW X-pipe and mufflers ceramic coated . I sold an old engine I had laying around now have the $ to install.
Oh and my old 87 vette when I changed the mufflers and act. it started popping out the exhaust when I let off the gas , I dont want that again.

you may have some popping out of the exhaust but you can have mark haibeck tune that out for you.

Just about...make that ANY... changes to ingress or egress of air would benefit from tuning - not only to maximize the potential, but to avoid things like "popping", etc.

Marc Haibeck can provide you with a generic calibration, based on experience with various mods and requirements, including the popping.

ok , maybe I should wait and do the muff's when I do the headers , I'd hate to buy 2 chips , just watching the budget .

i talked with marc about that, you can run either without a tune if you have/want to. it won't really hurt anything

Next ?? depends on $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ I got wiped out about 14 months ago ( some people here know the deal ) But I got hurt working across the pond in some sand , Workers Comp. hasn't paid a dime and went 12 months with out income , pretty much broke me. I took an old truck I had and sold the engine out of it and paid this months bills and got my mufflers put on the vette. So I'm now getting physically able to work and trying to get back on my feet with the finances . ( its going to take a while ) Med. bills knocking at my door..
Anyway ( sorry about the rant at least it didn't talk politics :) Next will be headers ( which I have but need to get ceramic coated ), I needs Marc's chip , then I'd like to change out the dual flywheel . and eventually get Pete to do his magic on heads and cams, also switch to a 3:90 gear. Some people say sell the Z ( local people ) but I'd rather be broke and homeless before that happens ..
I went to a car show Sat. and people Loved the Z , some members said I've never seen one ! whats under the hood ??! They were amazed at the engine , but most were google-eyed at the stainless air filter housing .. Thanks Guys sorry for the rant

Remember too that popping indicates there is unburned fuel in the exhaust stream. Too much popping means you're running rich. Running too rich for too long a time can cause CAT damage. CATs are not cheap but a nicely tuned chip is :)
