As my 1st c4 I did the normal search for the proper jacking procedures for the car. I noticed people use the jack-a-vette or corvettegadgetman adapters but I looked at my Z with the corsa exhaust and it doesn't appear either will work due to the pipe diameter and a small stabilizing plate between the pipes. Am I wrong or do you with the corsa exhaust use something else?
Can I lift each corner one at a time? If so is there a sequence to minimize body flex?
Thanks

Marc Haibeck sells a great jacking tool. I have a Corsa also and use it all the time

I have corsa exhaust. I know what you mean.
Many will argue that even lifting one corner at a time for extended
periods is not a problem for the car. I'm not one of them.
There are as many ways of lifting the car as there are owners.
Here is one that I find works and works extremely well.

I have factory exhaust, and the suggested method of a piece of pipe on the jack to the bottom of the differential won't work on mine as the exhaust is in the way. I jack from the arrowed jack point under the side mirrors - which will jack the whole side of the car, put stands front and rear, then do the other side the same way....

Exactly correct and good point.

Thanks everyone. Will give the jack point method a try. Seems like an easy way to do the whoke car and I need to do the brakes and fluids. Appreciate all the great responses. This is a very informative group.

If you look on the rocker panel under where the side mirror is you will see a small triangle pointing down indicating the lift point. Put a ice hockey puck or a multi-folded rag on the jack to keep from damaging the rocker panel. You will see the body seam that runs under there - that is what you jack on - and also where I put my jack stands (as far forward and rearward as possible) The slot on the top of the stands will fit right on it....

This is Factory Exhaust 1990 :p
A Steel adapter has been designed and proven safe to lift the rear axle directly under the center of the rear spring mount using a floor jack. The ZR1 can be lifted to a height such that ramps can be inserted from the side under each rear wheel.
I do not like twisting the ZR-1 while jacking from a corner.

Corvette Gadget Man has a nifty floor jack adapter that slips between the exhaust pipes. Use mine all the time to change tires.

Ya know I will have to look at that. I know I can't get to the differential with a pipe like that - not sure about the spring mount. I may have neglected to look at the spring mount - thinking it was the differential I was supposed to jack. I was worried about the twisting - but after I did it from the side with utmost care I don't think it will be an issue in the future... I don't have the pipe and I don't have ramps - so I gotta do it the best I can with what I have... ;)

There is no twisting if you use two floor jacks, one at each factory suggested
"arrows".

Just get your self a couple of these ramps you can back the ZR-1 right up and crawl right under ;)
I think Pep Boys or my favorite Harbor Freight has them. They are stackable :D
Then get yourself this low profile Aluminum Floor Jack at Harbor Freight :p
3 ton Pittsburgh Racing Aluminum Floor Jack (http://www.harborfreight.com/aluminum-racing-floor-jack-with-rapid-pump-3-tons-68052.html)

I've seen those jacks at Harbor before. I have one really good floor jack. Thought about gettin a set of ramps but really have no place to put them. Took me a whole summer to get my 3 car garage to where I could actually get 3 in it. Stuff stacked everywhere with just enough room for the cars. We store cat food in there for the rescue group, and also have a bunch of supplies for building cat trees for our fundraising night as well. One o those deals u gotta see to appreciate...

I'm with Scott and Racin - I use two of the HF $50-75 aluminum jacks with hockey pucks at the front and rear jack points. On the scissor lift I do more or less the same but take the front jack point a little further forward on the curved rail.
I lift one or t'other C4 a couple times a week it seems. No new squeaks/rattles/stresses and you can even open and shut the door if you need to, same as sitting on the ground.
If you're using only one jack don't try the door! I would seriously pick a point on that same rail 1/3 of the way back from the front marking if I had to use just one jack.
Either way when you're setting the jack reach in and make sure your hockey puck is well positioned on the rail - too far out you're going to pick up the rocker panel and too far in you're going to ding the floorboard.
Cheers,
- Jeff

I picked up the second one for $15.
Worth the cost compared to jacking one corner at at time.
Just keep your eyes open for a sale.
Also note the jacks have a notch in them so the edge of
the frame fits right in them.
