Just curious, who was driving the 93 Ruby ZR-1 on I-69 between Indy and Anderson this morning? I was the guy driving my wife's brown Kia that gave you the thumbs up.
Yours was only the 3rd ZR-1 I have seen on the road in my 13 years of watching for them, [not including the ones attending a major event like Bloomington or Carlyle.]
I wish I was driving mine this morning, it would have been fun driving together for a short while. Lately I'm making trips from Ft. Wayne to Indy for wife's medical treatments. Always good to see another ZR-1, the older mine gets the more I appreciate it. I hope all who own a ZR-1 take good care of them and keep e'm a very long time. Jim l

Never seen that one. I live in Pendleton, and I-69 is part of my driving pattern when I take the 91 Turquoise Z for a ride.

That was me in the Ruby 427! We were heading to Selma to my father-in-law's house. My wife thought it was a pretty cool reaction.

How cool is that? There aren't many cars where you can call out on a forum like this and have your answer. Long live the king of the hill.

There's also one more Ruby in Indy area Larry Horton,Larry has been around for years.
Have not seen or heard from him in years he was a very good guy.
If anybody seen/knows him tell him I say hi.

Funny how things come full circle.
Larry's name came up last fall when I was looking for a new '93 rear (machined-faced) sawblade. Marc H contacted Larry to see if he would sell one of the "never installed" wheels he is using as the base for a garage table. Knowing how rare they are, Larry wouldn't sell, and I totally understand.
Thanks to Marc's suggestion that I contact David J., (who I am now calling the wheel mister), I was able to find a full set of brand new '93 wheels that also had never been mounted. I should have bought a Powerball ticket that day - what are the odds of finding a full set of new 93 wheels anymore!

Couple years ago, going south on I 85, just north of Charlotte, I saw a winged B-Body Mopar headed north. Few minutes later, another, then 2 more. Easily $1 million dollars' worth, @ $250 - 300k+ each.
You see one, WOW. 4 means a show. Registered on Mopar Forum that night, and found out Petty had hosted a shindig in Concord that weekend.
(my first car was a '68 Charger R/T)

Speaking of MOPARs here is my Uncles 1969 Charger "500" 1 of 27 built. 426 Hemi, 4 speed manual, 4.10 suregrip rear.http://i1202.photobucket.com/albums/bb373/Paul_Schermerhorn/ss69hemi500.jpg (http://s1202.photobucket.com/user/Paul_Schermerhorn/media/ss69hemi500.jpg.html)
. It was Chryslers 1st of 3 "Aero" cars. The CHarger 500, the Dodge Charger "Daytona" and the Plymouth Superbird. It is fast, 1st and 2nd gear are useless, 3rd and 4th gear are amazing, the induction noise is very loud as the dual quads open up.
The 500 is an R/T delete car with a 68 Coronet front grill instead of the R/T recessed front end, it also had a flush mount rear glass window which helped low drag over the stock Charger. The 500 also had the A pillar covers, teh same ones the Daytonal ater received.
Chrysler realized that these mods while improving performance, did not improve stability over 120mph. This is when Dodge added teh front nose fpor 1200lbs of dpoanwfoce and thae rear wing for 800 lbs of downforce. These changes made the Daytona stable through 205mph.
This is how the Dodge Daytona was born, and then ofr 1970 the Plymouth Superbird came about.
The Charger 500 is actually more rare than the winged "Aero"cars.

Hog,
The Ford Talladega followed the same formula as the 500 w the flush front end and rear backlight. That's when NASCAR was actually fun to watch.
