How many miles do you have and do you "use" any oil between changes?

Yes. It's a characteristic of the LT-5.

Your 1990 model will use more then other years. No valve stem seal for 90. I think it's in your manual or table book ? It's a good read for someone new to the LT5.

Seen your other post on water temps..... Better clean out that rad soon. Your next post will be how to replace head gasket, if you keep that thing up at 245-250..... Just saying

Yup, normal (especially a 90) but I recently discovered when I run 1qt low it uses less. Quite a bit less at high rpm.

It turned out that i was checking the oil after only having the car shut off for an hour, the next day it was right up to the full hash mark.

I think checking the oil in the LT5 is a little tricky. The dipstick has a couple bends and it tends to hit the tube coming up. If you don't get the level reading the first time, it may not be accurate.

I don't keep the hammer on the floor, but after pegging it occasionally, I see a film on my back end... Never a dirty exhaust; but still kinda' bothersome.
