wtb long tube headers

Looking to purchase a set of long tube headers. I am aware of the new units on the market, but I thought I would see what else is out here that somebody wants to sell.

I bought and am pleased with the OBX headers. They are made in China, paid $350? Had them ceramic coated. -Steve

Lowest price I found was ~$515 shipped and they are stainless steel, uncoated.

I bought them on E-Bay, I guess they've gone up since. Yes, they came polished stainless and I sent them out to be coated. I had made myself a note to just call Corey Henderson for his long tubes, but, I followed the all mighty dollar.

How do you like the obx headers?

They are my number one choice too...and yes i'm following the almighty dollar too!

I have no complaints, but also have nothing to compare them to. They did rub on the steering column. The right thing to do would have been to dimple them before I had them coated. But, I paid someone to install them, so they had to be ready. We ended up jacking the engine just a bit to clear. I hear this is a fairly common problem. Coreys are suppose to be good for more hp, and who couldn't use more hp. Is three or four hp worth a thouwy?

When you jacked up the engine did the headers clear without denting one of the primaries? I have heard about the steering clearance issues and remounting, if that's the.correct term, the engine will fix the problem.

Jacking fixed it totally. To dimple them, you would have to install them, or it, just the drivers side. Mark it, remove it, dimple it, then sent them out to be coated.

I din't want my car down that long. If I had the equipment and the know how, it would have been a good winter project. If I owned a lift I might have tackled it.

Paul Workman makes a dip stick relocation bracket, you'll need it. You will also need an extention for the o2 sensor. I didn't realize this before hand and we cobbled something together. Somewhere out there is a real, or better extention for the wireing.

There are several different coatings for the headers. Some are pretty, some are functional. I chose the Swaintech White Lighting (http://swaintech.com/race-coatings/race-coating-descriptions/white-lightning-exhaust-coatings/)

It's not real pretty, but holds the heat in better. Or, you can ceramic coat them with something that will keep them pretty. If you don't coat them, they will turn blue, then kinda brown.

Did you install, catalytic converters?
