Well its time for some upgrades. Old Blue now has 53K miles so I've decided to take a drive up to Marc's (date set for 1st week in Aug). So far this is what I have. Just want to review with you guys that have had mods done to see if I am missing anything. Not a track car and do not run 1/4 mile just a few road trips a year and car shows.
Thanks Steve

Steve,
on a side note.. Try to get together with the FBI that week, I know I am out f town, but I would be more then happy to meet up with you when you come back for the car..
Does your A/C currently work? if so, I would say if it is not broken don't fix it.
If the A/C no longer works then you could go with R134a but I do know that R134a does run a higher head pressure then R-12..

Jeff,
Thanks for your input, Yes the AC does work but needs a charge as it does every year has a small leak and its getting hard and expensive to add a can every year. I don't use it very often but it does get hot here in the south (Ga.) Tell me more about the cons of higher head pressure?
Would love to meet up with you guys when I come back up in Sept. Trip up will arrive on Aug 12 am with a flight out 7pm that nite. not sure on the pick up date yet as this is up to Marc and when he feels all is good to go. Will try to fly up on a Sat. AM with my son as a copilot for the trip home.
crab's, the silver looks great!!!
Steve
I would Swain coat the header's.

with a higher Head pressure (albeit not too much) I noticed is will drag on the motor a bit more. Another thing with R134a and our cars is the ZR-1 specifically does have a a bit more work for cooling, ours cars have a 10PA17 compressor while the L98/LT1/4 have a 10PA20
that with a warmer engine compartment will not help the ambient temperatures and high side pressure. Since you have a leak and R134a is easier to get then I would go that route, but if Marc finds the Condenser to be leaking you may want to consider replacing the condenser with a parallel flow instead of the tube and fin (the parallel flow was in the 94-95) this will help with 134. I have a parallel flow in my 90 but I am running R12

I would install a 4:10 gear set instead of a 3:73. I have the 3:73, for the expense and trouble they don't feel much different than a stock set. Wish I would have gone 4:10.

Thanks for the input, many have said the same thing. The 90 I had was a 4.09 gear and to be honest I just did not care for it, maybe it was my driving style. So a small boost to 3.73 should work out for me.

3.73 will keep you from having to shift into 4th at the traps.
Might as well go 4.56 then. 6500rpm is 110mph in 4th 7000 is 119mph in 4th. And 5th gear gives you 160mph at 7000rpm

Hi Steve--
I did essentially the same thing last year with Marc. I did the 510 package (but minus the Fidanza and I added Cats, so actually a 486 for the moment). I did Fine Silver with black bolts that were left over from other redos. Looks more stock, although I did add Haibeck lettering. Last year I did the 4.10s--I have had them on my 93 for 13 years and they are the best upgrade you can do for street driving. My opinion: don't spend the money on only 3.73s. Also added Corsa and Hurst short shifter as I had on my 93. There are a number of pictures in my albums section but her are a couple:

I have 3:73's but will probably upgrade to 4:10 one day. I run 19" rear tires so the gear gets reduced. I have driven Phil's car with the 4:10 and loved it

Since he doesn't drag race his car that won't matter. It's more about making it fun on the street. I think you would love the 4.10's. Plus, 1st is still usable (useless with 4.56 on the street) and you can still milk some mileage out of the car on road trips.

I think I will do the 4.10's if I do gears, I hear they put the most HP down.
410s the only game in town! Perfect fit with your motor in my opininion. I love mine.

I really like my 3.45's because I like to stretch out the gears, Had 4.09's in a 90 just did not fit my driving style. So that is why I went with 3.73's this time the way I look at best of both worlds.

The best thing to do is ride with someone with 4:10 gears first before making a choice. I was all for 4:10 before riding in one. Settled on 3:92 and am really happy with them. If you go with something taller than 4:10 first talk to Demps and get his opinion on 4:30 gears.

3.45s stay in 2nd,3rd and 4th longer, 4.09/4.10 (don't even think they make 4.09 any more) run thru the gears to quick...3.73's best choice for me.

Guys, I really appreciate the input on the gears and I do understand where you are coming from but 4.10's are just not for me. I love cruzzin on the back roads in 3rd & 4th around 3K to 5k rpms and just want to stay in a little better power band then with the 3.45s.
Anyone have some pics of the silver metallic??
