First of all, welcome to the forum.:handshak:

I think we will need more info regarding what is going on, i.e. what is working-what isn't (lights, sounds, etc.) to better help you. It of course could be the VATS or any number of problems. Give as much info as you can and someone here is bound to help you figure it out.

they changed the ecm, but still no luck, apparently according to the service mgr, the modules are not talking to each other.

It could be a relay or a wiring fault, or many other things. In order to give any helpful advice, we'll have to know exactly what happens when you try to start the car.
Which lights come on, which go off?
Do you know the VATS well enough to know if it's been triggered or not?
Have you tried your spare keys?
How old is the battery?
Are the connections good on the battery?
Do you have good ground on the battery/car?
Did you/the shop check the clutch safety switch?
Has the engine ever been hosed down or cleaned with water, even just a LITTLE?
Can you hear the solenoid attempt to engage?
Can the car be push started?

This Dealer you've taken it to, do they have a LT5 certified mechanic?
