Need to figure a center cap out, hear Buick rally caps will work?
http://imageshack.us/a/img560/5176/1f34.jpg
Also added matte black ZR-1 decals to each door.

305s fill up front fender well pretty good, you can barely see coilovers...

Before seeing rims on the car, I was planning on getting centers powder coated black but think I like the polished look with Steel Blue!

The way the car sits on the ground is perfect. You have put together a great looking (and likely performing) car....

CJ, You are going to love the Toyo RA1. They are sticky on the drive pavement and one of the best wet pavement tires in the world.
Your SB/SB car is looking Sweet cant wait to see it in person.
Are you going to do the Cruisin the Coast tour?

Hi,
The car looks very good. Is it the coilovers or the new rims that reduced the gap between the top of the wheel and the fender? Also, do you have any issues with tire clearance; turn lock to lock, etc?
Thanks,
Ken
Finally 18's that look great on a ZR-1. Those front look BEAFY from the top/engine view.
Good stuff.
KGV-I assume the coilovers adjusted the ride height, rim selection would o nothing to wheelwell gap unless taller tires were added

toyo ra-1s are one of my favorite tires and your car looks fantastic with the ccws
carter should be able to hook you up on center caps or know what would work
what spring rates did you go with? let me know how you like the ride and handling
like the zr-1 on the side too, very unique!

It's actually both. Car is a lot lower than stock using coilovers and the 18" rims/tires are almost a full inch more taller than the 17" A-molds with tires. No clearance issues except I can no longer turn wheel lock to lock. The front sway bar has to be relocated forward about an inch to clear coilovers and because of the 11" wide front rims I can only turn 3/4's each way. Not bad on the road but does make for 8 point turns in parking lots. :censored:

Spring rates are 425 front and 275 rear. Love the way the car handles and rides with the larger sway bars and coilovers. Car stays flat and is very responsive.

It takes 6-8 hours if you have all the parts ready at once. You have to get a grove machined onto each shock. The whole project took me 2+ months but I only worked on it when my friend and I had time. Well worth the time and effort. :-D

If you don't mind sharing, how difficult is it to get the groove put on the shocks and what are the locations? The instructions from DRM did not state and I could not get a reply from Randy.
Glad to hear you are enjoying the coilovers and the install went well.
Thanks!

I sent my shocks to DRM for machining. Only had to pay shipping, machining was included in coilover purchase. Shocks are machined right about an inch (26mm) from where the shock starts to curve in at the bottom.

CJ,
I can't thank you enough for taking the time to share detailed photos like this. I really appreciate it and will check with Randy at DRM. Pictures are worth a thousand words as the saying goes and now I understand what is being said about it.

What's the width of the groove and the diameter of the shock?
Shock width is 50.28mm
http://imageshack.us/a/img841/538/13hj.jpg
With snap ring total width increases to 53.28mm
http://imageshack.us/a/img51/9667/4t7n.jpg
The ring is roughly 3mm thick and the grove in the shock body is cut 1.5mm deep. The ring is also roughly 1.46mm thick.

It's a hand made stainless steel air box made very similar to the Marc Copland Air Box. I had it powder coated to match motor.

Great info and thanks. If anyone needs their shocks cut I can do them. The first person that send me their shocks to do and provides the snal ring, too I'll do for $80 shipped. The normal price is $88 shipped.
PM me if interested...............thanks, Carter ;)
