Looking for some advice...
My left bank cat converter just kicked the bucket....I've been picking pieces of the honey comb out of my tail pipe for the last few days.
Trying to decide which route to go. Pennies are a bit tight at the moment, but I don't want to simply leave it for fear of any further damage.
I'm running classic plates here in PA, so I don't have to worry about trying to pass emissions. If I go ahead and clean out the left cat since its already toast should I do the same to the other bank? I'm sure the imbalance in back-pressure is not the best thing...
Thoughts?

Second on that. I blew out a cat on my '91 and the cost to replace was crazy. Went with the headers; much better for the performance and sound anyway.

I agree with both bit....
If times are tough, take the insides out of both and make sure everything is out.
You might be able to find a replacement piece cheap too...
See you @ Carlisle Dave??????

I think there is a set of 94 exhaust manifolds on ebay; $249.....have a pipe put in instead of the cats, bet you pick up some decent powers for low price

I have a set of cats that are gutted from a 90, we could work out a deal for your good cat as they smog all cars for ever here in Calif.

Note says budget is tight, 94s would work also; 90s-92 exhaust does not look nearly as good in terms of build quality; pipes pinch alot

Hey tpr60....that sounds interesting. Wouldn't want to kill a good original cat if someone was able to use it.
Look for a pm from me. We'll chat.

Has anyone used the OBX headers that are all over fleabay?
I'm sure you get what you pay for, but I'd love to hear the thoughts of someone using a set.

Only issue I had with the OBX headers was my steering column rubbed. Installed about a year now.

Usually making a small dimple in the header willl allow it to clear. Pretty common.
