auto headlight

hi,all
is there any way i can cancel those automatic popping headlight?...specially annoying at the end of the day,where they come on and off with every shadow patch..:censored: ...i think im old enough to decide by myself if its dark enough....thanks

i know the light sensor is on top of the dash pad,in front of the driver.....
is it just the canadian model?its driving (no pun) me crazy....hi,tt...going to carlisle?

The credit for this tip really belongs to FrankD. I was getting annoyed with my headlights constantly flipping on and off on my c4 every time i drove through the shade. My car was originally a Canadian car, and had no way to shut this feature off. To disable the lights, carefully pull the light sensor located directly above the speedometer out of the dash to expose the 2 wires running in to it. Place a 100 ohm resistor in parallel with the sensor. Tape it up and stick the sensor back in the dash. You will now have complete control of when your headlights turn on and off.

blackjacks car must be a Canadian version with DRL (day time running lights). front park lights are on all the time until the sensor in the dash picks up twilight conditions (dusk) then they go off & the headlights pop up. it can be annoying that's for sure in shady conditions. you can't just disconnect the sensor because then it will revert to the headlights being up & on all the time. great tip about the 100 ohm resistor, i'm going to try that.=D>

just to follow up, i put a resistor in last night & it seems to be good. i wasn't sure what wattage to get so i went with a ¼ watt 100 ohm. i just sodered it to the terminals in the pig tail, that way it's cleaner, no cutting, stripping or splicing. just push back in the pig tail from behind.:D
