Hey guys,

I want to buy a lift so I can stack the ZR1 up out of the way. Can any of you identify this lift? It looks like it is respectively small in height which would be perfect for the single bay of my triple. I emailed the guy who was selling the Viper pictured, but he never responded.

Thanks ZR1 friends

Excellent!! Thanks for the help.

Big bucks on these "storage" lifts.

Thanks again!

A 4 post parking lift will not take much room and would be a LOT more sturdy. What measurements are you dealing with?

What is the height of your cars and the ceiling height on your garage? I have less than 10' and I can put any of my vette on the top and my Riviera on the bottom with room to spare.

The overall garage is 22x28. There is a single bay on the one side of the double door that I'm planning to use to stack the Vette's (ZR1 and C6 Z06). The single bay measures 8x22. The only thing I'm not 100% on is the ceiling height. It's a new-to-me house that I take possession of in August. Sadly there were 15 foot ceilings, but the previous owner considered it wasted space and build a really nice mezzanine that runs along the top now. I believe that there is now 8-10'' of space between the floor and the mez.

Appreciate the feedback and assistance.:handshak:

What is the column height of your hoist, 4-post I'm assuming?

This place has a "will it fit" calculator that may help.

Alberta,

I use a bend pak 4 post lift with 9000 lbs cap. I have a 64 chevelle ss cvt on top with the ZR-1 underneath. BP posts are 7 ft tall and the ceiling is 9 1/2 ft tall. Works well.

The height of your C6 is 49.1" while the Z is 46.3" that is what the ride heights were from GM.

That's great. Thanks for passing that along.

Thanks for passing along those measurements. Saves me from measuring them up.

Hey Tyler--
After a lot of research I got a Direct Lift Pro Park 8S last summer to hold my Z and a BMW 5 series. I have ten feet of height and my interior dimensions are 21' x 21'. Raised the garage tracks and installed a jackshaft opener. There are pictures of it in my albums section if you click on my avatar. Let me know if you have any questions about it after you look at them. - Bob

Well I took possession of the new house and the new lift just fits for the ZR1. I ended up going with a Direct Lift on 220 power. I wish I had a bit more room, but at least I'm able to park both cars in the single bay. I had 9 feet (8.5 under the loft floor support beam) to work with and the ZR1 is sitting on the locks at the perfect height to keep the Z06 underneath.

Next steps is to finish running new lights....pull string lights, good grief.

Thanks again everyone for the information and contribution earlier this year.

Nah, it's not going anywhere with the car on it. It has the optional casters to move it around, so I'm happy not to bolt it down. I marked out the post bases and lifted the hoist a few times with the car on it and they never moved an inch; so good enough for me. Talking to many who own 4 posts, a good portion don't bolt theirs down either.

It is just with the lift being the only tie-in of the four posteds; makes me uncomfortable.

My bend - Pak says the same thing - no need to bolt it down as it also comes with casters. How ever I did make sure to level the posts. Might want to use some card board or something across the drive on ramps to prevent drips on that pretty yellow one just in case of a leak. :)

You bet! It's leveled up nice and true and you can't see them, but there are 5 drip trays underneath the green machine. Pretty happy with the purchase overall.

I think as long as they are ANSI certified they should work ok.

For those of you that have a garage opener directly over the area where you want to place the lift you might want to consider using the Autolifter side mount opener to give you additional height for your lift. I have 3 of them and they work great. Not much more expensive that the regular openers and you can get a backup battery pack.

I agree--I raised the garage door tracks and installed a Liftmaster 3800 jackshaft opener. Quiet and it works great. Then I ran surface mount conduit from the old opener electrical box for a ceiling mounted box so I don't have cords on the floor for the lift and my charger.--Bob

I did the same thing bob when my garage door went bad. Sure gives a lot more head room space and gets the door close to the ceiling. The battery backup works good too.
