Out in the 90....siamesed plenum ported into the head, cams, headers, blah blah blah you get the picture.

I have always wondered about powershifting and how you can do it at such high RPM; did not seem feasible to execute although we have seen the Rocket and heard stories of minneker

After some messing around, I ran the car up to 7K hammer down, no lift, bounced the clutch off the bottom, while slipping into second.......
WHAM!
Perfect execution, but the bull sent me a subtle reminder that you have to ride for the full 8 seconds......as the clutch engaged there was a violent right to left toss of the back end of the car as the power came back through to the rear wheels; needless to say I was alittle more "awake" than before the run and after that little escapade I am not sure I will try it at the track.

Got to get some projects done so I can get this thing on the dyno; even at $4.80 a gallon it does not get any better than this!

Do you have C-Beam Plates? Helps the fish-tailing...

I do not.....it is a 143K mile car(motor is 3-4K)......its had some suspension freshing but might need more. The amount of torque the car has seems to be pretty impressive, dissolves tires.......will see what the #s come out as, I hope its not a big let down:cheers:

Jim Ingals mentioned at one of the gatherings in BG that he power shifts at 6300 rpm on stock ZR-1s. He highly recommends it for best ETs, but then too if it breaks, he just tosses the keys to one of the GM minions and says "Its broke! Go find out what broke and let me know!"

Beam plates...seemed to have helped noticeably on mine. Clue: oval-shaped bolt holes in the differential end of the C-beam attested to some squirming going on, prior to installing the plates.

FWIW,

P.

Lee, That had to be fun.
Gas price: extremely stupid.
Permagrin: Priceless.
