Today while waiting for things to dry on the 49th St Rockers, I tore apart the conv rear clip for the next project. A convertible ZR-1. Now that the panels are separated I am ready to cut up 1990 #444 for the conversion.

Baseball, hotdogs, apple pie and chevrolet. This is only on the conv cars.

The speaker housing sits betwen the fender wells and up against the rear of the storage compartment. I'll need to make a mold of this as well.

I bought the bare body tub a couple of yrs ago. It was parted out. Not wrecked. A six SPD conv donor car will be bought for the parts need for rebuilding the Z. The motor from the Turq car will be used once my 427 LT5 is built.
This will be a two yr plan.

I think he said he's using the frame of a convertible as the base.
Hey "Mr. Mold", how about doing the C4 ZR-1 "active suspension" hood? That's an exotic piece that I'd like to find. Nice little baby bump for the LT5, but no high rise hot rod look.

Priorities. I work on all of them but there's obviously priorities to customers.

Yes, I'll most likely use a factory X brace and "box" it to provide more rigidity. I may also use Gordon's frame stiffeners in addition to the X brace.

I'm using ZR-1 1990 #444 as the basis for the convertible build.
As for the Active hood, I doubt that I'd ever try to duplicate it. That center bulge would take a lot of work.

Thanks, Jeff. I'll keep that in mind when the time comes. Sometime after I get the 53 and 55 done, I'll start cutting into the #444 body B pillars. Lots to do in the meantime.

As I have said before, there sure are a lot of talented folks in this Registry. You are a master builder for sure!!! I can't wait to watch this build.

This is a perfect schedule. It gives me enough time to find a good donor car.
