View Full Version : Should I throw these trim parts away?

My rear interior trim was cracked, so I got the 3 piece kit from Corvette America. What should I do with the original parts? The center tray was cracked between the screws and a couple screws went all the way through. (assuming somebody overtightened BIG time) The right side piece has a small angled piece missing at the top front, and the piece that screws in the front behind the courtesy light is broken. The left piece is good except for the piece that screws behind the courtesy light is also broken.
SO - since I'm a pack rat by nature and I need to stop it - do I trash this stuff or keep it? Not used to "rare car parts"....

Unless you know a way to repair the broken pieces I would replace them with new or parts from a salvage yard and toss the broken pieces.

Already replaced them with new stuff. Just wasn't sure whether or not to throw out original parts even if damaged.... New to this "rare car" stuff :o

I could see if you had a low mileage trailer queen, but someone correct if I'm wrong, the interior pieces of our cars are the same as all the base models. So if you want to keep it original as possible, I'd go with salvage yard parts or OEM, no one will know the difference but you.

I would take them for shipping if you are just throwing them out

not worth much, but they can be fixed (plastic weld) and refinished.
might be fun to do some project work and do the CF wrap.
seen some of that work that was impressive. looks like the real thing and it's way cheaper
