OK so I found a early model 90 ZR1 #00077

Called Jim, but found a few things:

#277 stamped on the plenum

Also: Carfax says first registration was with 48,122 miles from an auction.

First Title says it was issued to Chevrolet Pontiac Canada in Sterling Heights Michigan.

Thoughts??

Congratulations on finding #77.

Looks like somebody upgraded the plenum gaskets.

the plenum spacer you have there probably block the coolant passages keeping the air cooler.

Congratulations! The car looks to be in pretty good condition. How does it run?

Did you get it for the price you hoped?

Hey Jim,

Yes I got it for exactly what I needed to. Is very clean body wise, Needs aclean up and attention to corrosion. But its all there and unmolested

It runs good as I can tell, Didnt drive it but ran it for 30 min.

I also Got a ton of original LT5 tools that cant be bought anymore.

The car was custom ordered and shipped to the proving grounds as far as I can tell.

It also came with all the odd parts it has. I should have it ready for Carlisle, but I wont be hitting 140 in the twisties like we do one the way to BG.

still want to know about the #277 on the plenum.

I will schedule a Maintenance day and we will go over it soon.:handshak:

Congratulations! With that low of a vin number, and having been titled to CPC, it seems like it was another GM car that was used as test fleet vehicle possibly. Nice find!

Yeah, I am in the process of getting all the build sheets and other paperwork before carlisle.

I have to fix a few things andmake sure its roadworthy and up to our standards before we go...I may even let the wife drive it. So I can bring the "Irene" car.

I was asked by a few people if I would sell "Irene" since I have a low number test vehicle.....

I told them I have TWO kidney's but ONE Irene...

This car only has 54,000 miles so the task's will ONLY be limited to pulling the engine,..repairing any corrosion, repaint of the plenums/IH's/Cam covers and the frame in internals in the front, then reinstall and ops check. AS well as any small prts that need to be replaced...pretty simple stuff.:handshak:

This car is going to stay as it was (aside from wheels) When it was sent to CPC.

Hey Chuck, ride back was good, no issues other than the tranny popping out of gear...I put everything in storage and I am living out of a suitcase till I close this week:censored:.

I am installing a B&M short shifter and will install the tranny sometime this month or july.

status of yours?

I'm at the coast; will begin de-compiling the auto conversion next week, then open up the top and get some hardware from Mr. Workman, I believe, and start portwork / cleanup / injector spray test, etc., etc., ...

Apart from your tranny jumping gear, sounds good so far with yours ...

Now just get the White GS striping on your new one, and we'll have an 'Oreo' set-up display @ Carlyle
