I just moved down to Houston from upstate NY and am loving the area so far. I would like to hear of any trusted shops down here that if I need to I can bring my '91 in? (I'm at 40K on it now and thinking that a clutch may be in my future, tires as well). Any input would be great.
Thanks!
Scott

closest one would be corry henderson in new braunfuls...yeah I don't know how to spell that...I know it's a haul but corry's one of the best. Why do you think you need a clutch at 40,000 miles?

Here's Corey's website. Top notch, total class of a guy, as well.

Thank you guys! I don't need the clutch yet but it's one of the things that I'd rather have a shop I trust do when the time comes. I had a great shop up in Syracuse NY (Corvette Barn), and I am looking forward to making the drive out to Henderson.

I bought my 1990 ZR-1 from Franks Vettes in Spring- Frank is a really good guy. His shop did all the work on my ZR-1, for the previous owner. He told me he does work on the LT5- So far I haven't had any problems with my ZR-1 that I have had to get him to work on it. The number to the shop is 281-350-vettes- He also has a web site.In my folder of receipts from previous owner Franks replaced injectors,a/c work, oil changes and did other work on the car.Have had car almost 2 years and haven't had any serious problems with it. His shop is very clean-and he is a friendly person.I will take my car back to him if I have any problems I can not handle. Hope you find this helpful-You might mention that Paul -that bought the 1990 black/black #849 ZR-1 mentioned his shop.

Corey, unless you want to do it yourself. Rhipsher has done his clutch a few times and could offer some pointers etc.

Sounds great to me, although I need to give mine a good cleaning from being inside the car transporter. I'll keep my eye out for any drives coming up.

Henderson Performance in New Braunfels, Tx is one of the best ZR-1 mechanics in the area, that is his speciality. Corey Henderson is the ZR-1 guru and is well respected its a bit of a drive from Houston, but well worth it. He port and polished my plenum and put some of his manufactured headers there and dyno my motor and boosted my HP at the wheel from 365HP to 410HP he is well known throughout the US and many people ship their ZR-1's down here for him to work on them. He really knows everything mechanical wise computer about ZR-1's inside and out and he often speaks at the ZR-1 gathering in BG.
His number is (830) 620-1117, you wont regret it and it's worth the drive if you can drop the car off for a few weeks and come back. He can also soda blast motors and can paint the heads and plenum custom colors.

Scott,

Corey is the best but I have used Houston Corvette's, located on Stefani Ln., Gordon Andrus for a lot of work on my 1990 ZR-1, He has been very good. Stay away from Lucas Auto Care, bad news.
