I just purchased this yellow 1991 ZR1 salvage car. It has a 2010 ZR1 registry sticker in the windows. The serial number is 1G1YZ23J9M5800905. It came from Californea. They said the insurance company totalled it because they could not locate the rear bumper and trim. It drives perfectly straight, and runs like a top. It is straight as an arrow on the frame rack. I purchased the body panels, and plan to get the work started next week.

I would like to find the previous owner so I can get the history, and hopefully the original paper work. Any info would be greaty appreciated.

It's the best looking barn in Ortonville.....only because it is full of Corvettes! LOL. I wish I would have went about 10 feet deeper. Your white parts vette is going to fit right in though;)

We will get together soon though. Looking foward to meeting fellow corvette speed junkies.

I got it off craigslist for $8500 out of Swartz Creek, Mi. How long ago was it on ebay? What price did it sell for?

Is there a moderator that can search the registry with the vin number and try to contact the previous owner for me? I would really like to get some history on this car. All I got was a California salvage title with a dealers name on it.

$8500 sounds familiar,no Mod can do a search for previous owners. The build sheet might tell you the selling dealership where the car was sold,Carfax might have some past owner history.Had the owner been a member here this car would have been known.

It has 2010 vette registry stickers in the rear hatch. They must have been part of this community at some point. Hopefully the build sheet is still behind the bumper when I pull it. I will check with the museum on the other paper work.

The build sheet, one of them anyway is in the front cross member. All 90-91 ZR-1 came with what commonly know as the pizza box. This owners kit consisted of among other items the build sheet and window sticker so this information is floating around out there somewhere. If a past owner was a member of the Registry then it is recorded in the records here, should be anyway.

The Registry does NOT have a data base of the VIN of each members ZR-1. Some Registry members/owners list their car's VIN but is was never a requirement do do so.

My data base does not have any owner information for your car.

Update: I have this car back on the road. It's been a fantastic driver. I found out it was a red/red car from the factory. Somebody spent a lot of money having it professionally converted to yellow with black interior.

Us northeast guys are sooo jealous of the room you have for your cars....Ones in my garage and the other Vette is at my moms under an awning,covered..

A million dollars in NY doesn't get you a two car garage in most cases...Lol...

Good luck with the build.....Nice find...

Well, I have to say, having the barn doesn't suck! LOL. I just wish I had gone 20 feet deeper. There is never enough room

I noticed you went from "I wish it were 10' deeper" to "I wish it were 20' deeper" in a little over a year... LOL :-D
Nice job on the car!
