We all kind of know each other from our posts. Just thought I'd post this auction of one of 10 1953 Corvettes that I've restored here at my shop so far. I have three more 53's waiting in line to be restored. This one is going through the R&M Auction, Ft Worth, today. Not sure how many ZR-1's are being sold this weekend.

1953-1955 is my area of expertise. ZR-1's are my hobby and stress relief.

Beautiful car Brett. Any idea what these cars weigh? Have you ever seen anyone "hotrod" these C1's?

It would have been nice if the SBC engine was debuted in 1953, but thats the way the cards played out.

I have a 57 Chev Belair with a 283, 4 barrel induction with Power-Pack heads/dual exhaust rated at 220hp. STill using the front engine mounts at this point, but was the 2nd year for an integral oil filter, 56 being the 1st year.

Again Brett, beautiful work, some C1 parts must be tough to source, NOS parts must be worth their weight in gold, or more.

peace

Under 3000lb. I did a 54 with C4 suspension, LS1, AT. That thing was scarey fun!

I actually manufacture some of the 53 stuff out of pure need. Around ten parts so far.

Thanks, Hog.

Thanks for the kind words. 53's are my favorite car to restore. I have car #067 in the shop waiting for frame work and a motor rebuild, currently under restoration and #032 will be leaving this week.

Cars #293, #220 and #201 are waiting in line for their day in the sun.

Also have 1957 pilot car #12 Fuel Injected car coming this Winter. This car was one of the first 12 pilot line fuelies. Really cool piece of history to restore.

This is the reason it takes so long for me to do these ZR-1 parts projects.
