I went to pick up The Beast from a local Vette shop and this is what I was greeted with as I came down the street.

Nice.
But only the blue one has more than 1 cam!!!
You could get a big block in a school bus
but not an LT5...

Thanks, but I was just thinking I believe that's a '64 which means that's a 30 year difference. Driving down the road it was a pretty cool sight to see. It would def look good in my garage. That's one of the few cars I wouldn't even have to discuss with the wife.

C2's are my favorite body style, then the C4's. As much as I love my Z, I would trade it in a heartbeat for a '67 427. The 427's have the stinger correct? Or was the stinger on other engine sizes?

Correct. Stinger was a 427.

I've always heard they put some Stinger hoods
on some small block cars near the end of the
67 production run. Because that's all they had left.
Not sure if it's true or not? That C2 in the picture
ain't a 67, no back up lights in the body above
the plate recess.

You'd blow the doors in on it.

From the moment a black '63 SWC blew the doors off the Family Trukster one night...I was in love with Corvettes. If ever I had a chance to have one like it...I dunno... IT WOULD BE A TOUGH DECISION!

I think the mid years are the pinnacle in Corvette exterior design. Our Z's may be the pinnacle in engineering but there is a lot more to the story with our cars in regards to what it took just to develope and create the car. I don't think that will ever be duplicated by a main stream American car company again (although the Ford GT comes close). Too many bean counters in control. I do love the mid years, tho.

Hard to beat the styling of a midyear coupe. I used to have a 64 coupe.

:dancingLoved it.

David,
I agree with you and not sure I am ready to give up my C4 ZR-1 for a mid year, but am looking for the right time and deal to get one. I hate the thought that the amount of money I spent on mine I could have been driving one and would like it to be updated to Vette Rod with some modern hardware. I drool all the time over mid years, especially the 63 SWC........

Man, P.........if I had the funds, that would be awesome. You know my memory is very bad, but wasn't there such a thing in a magazine? Maybe it was not a 63, but I think there was a C2 with an LT5 that was pretty awesome.

Not sure how I missed this but there is a write up in this months Vette Mag (right after the Jim Voter article) on a 67 LT5:

Couldn't help but notice the ripping out of secondaries ;)

Full ZR-1 drivetrain out of a '95 right down to the wheels.
