The fiberglass has split from the frame, but only in the spot pictured

What is the best way to bond the fiberglass back to the frame?

Anyone ever tried a bead of RTV inside the channel (glass FULLY removed from channel) ?

I bet it would bond the glass, AND solve the squeeking under flexion...

I don't mean to hijack the thread but I have a related but slightly different issue. I have a glass top and the coating on it is starting to delaminate. At least I presume it is a coating. My top has a label on it:

If this is a coating, is there way to strip and recoat it? Looks like to me that the coating is on the inside too. Almost like window tinting. In addition, my car has the two top option but I can't see the VIN on this top. Is it hidden under the attached top? I wonder if this is a replacement top. --Bob

I think if you wetsanded, rubbing compound, and then polishing compound then wax it would work

I broke an edge off the lexan top of my 90, about 2"X2".....superglued it....yes that actually is the stuff used on lexan, it makes merges the material together.

Wetsanded the edge, then used compound.....repair is seamless and smooth, need to work on the rest of the top to even out the color.

I have a top in my basement I got for free crack across the entire roof....going to superglue it, then paint it with night shades from VHT and buff it to cover the crack...will see what happens

Yep - wetsand with 2000 grit. And LOTS of rubbing with rubbing compound, and LOTS more with polishing compound. LOTS MORE...

Any superglue with cyano-acrylate in it will bond perfectly. And HARD. Bonded surfaces need to be sterile clean tho'...
