Hadi, you might want to learn to heel & toe, you are one lucky driver. Very fortunate that the ZR-1 is so forgiving. Cool video but do yourself a favor and get an instructor to teach you how to drive or the consequences could be disasterous.I am not being a dick, just concerned. Thanks for posting.

FYI, I know that Spring Mountain stopped teaching such a high emphasis on heal and toe just after I finished their school. Their new chief instructor had other idea's. Not sure what they teach now however there's always seems to be another NEW/Better way...

I had a MSgt tell me that he's been doing the "same" maintenance procedure for 10 years while changing tires on the A-7D. Guess what, the procedure had changed 5 years prior! Well at least he only wrong 50% of the time!

R, I appreciate your suggestion as being accomplished at heel & toe takes a LOT of practice. It is definately not for novice drivers as there are many other important issues that need to be worked on. As an instructor I was just VERY concerned regarding the lack of rev matching and downshifting that can result in a BAD situation. I will be the first to say that when I am racing sometimes it is very difficult to accomplish a heal and toe at 10/10ths. I never ask my novice students to try heal and toe unles they have practiced on the street and have a good idea of how it is done and what it is designed to do. I just have had too many experiences with students locking up the rear wheels when making a downshift and braking preparing for corner entry. Much better off leaving the car in the higher gear. After reading my post it sounded much more critical than I intended it to. I just don't want to see people and cars get hurt. Having instructed and raced for over ten years I have had the opportunity to have some excellent teachers, and I have tried to learn what they have tried to teach me. I apologize if I sounded to critical but in watching that video I saw some things that would have brought many drivers into the pits for a talking to. I am glad it all worked out. I enjoyed watching the video and I couldn't be more serious in saying the a C4 Corvette is one of THE most forgiving cars I have ever had the chance of driving. The down side is that it can give on a false sense of security in that it is so forgiving. I have done some pretty stupid things that my car has gotten me out of . Just a testiment of what a geat track car the C4 can be. You are correct in that teaching heal & toe is something that can be VERY difficult at the beginning. With the new technology one would be accurate in saying that it is not nessasary. However if you have a clutch, a manual transmission and a no rev match trans it is something that is imperative to master if you are going to be fast.
