Thanks Dave for an exciting and memorable day with a great group of people! I had an absolute blast and was absolutely floored by Lance's auto collection. I especially liked that so much of the collection was c4 based, and particularly loved the twin turbo Callaway Speedster Convertible - COOL!
On my way home, while passing a bunch of cars, I briefly accelerated to get off on the exit on the right, as the navigation gave late directions, and viola, the one time I was over the limit, I got hit by radar and pulled over 2 miles down the road and ticketed for 12 mph over the limit!
Even that could not bring me down from the high, after spending the perfect ZR-1 kind of day with friends.

Nice event and I kept it under 120 even when a guy with New York license plates provoked me!

I especially liked the 1954 wire covered headlight 54 as I've only seen one in photos before. Immaculate. I also liked the GT and the Cobra not to mention the Corvette Challenge cars in the garage.

Very nice to be able to meet so many owners who came from quite different places and states, several states.

Dinner if no one mentioned it Sat. night was great as well.

Thanks again for having it.

P.S. The yellow "Fastest" plate is Lance Miller's car that got the new injectors. Everybody knows that red and black ZR-1's are faster than yellow, protestations and license plates to the contrary!

I'll post this on this thread as well:

The event went well and thanks to David and others for organizing it. I did take about 150 photos with a good Nikon and they are now in three albums on Photobucket you can peruse. One is Wazoo replacing Lance Miller's ZR-1 injectors, another is the general photos including the pro's detailing a car and someone who trucked in a Z on a frame minus seats and body and the car collection with its excellent cars, my fav, the little 1954 Cherry Corvette. I'll also attach a link to the third album which when I went home to Virginia I drove my red/red down 100 miles of the Blue Ridge Mountains and about 350 or so curves slightly more aggressively than the law allows on a sunny day. You might not be so interested in that but it's here if you want to see the car on the drive. I have a dozen photos of the various license plates from the many states who were represented as well but don't as a practice post other's license plates for confidentiality reasons. You will enjoy the black Z from Florida as he took it off the trailer in the hotel parking lot to attend while wife and child snoozed away. The young daughter made up for it in Laps around the Miller patio at lunch when they joined. Great event.

Nice Pics Lance, thanks for posting them. As I've explained to Dave many times, Yellow is the fastest color!!! It's a well known fact that if there was a color faster than yellow, the sun would be that color instead of yellow!! Lance's Yellow Z is even faster now after Rich and I replaced all that stuff for him.

Gold....no kidding, Immaculate! I'd be afraid to spill a drop of oil in Lance Miller's Mom's garage much less the back buildings with the cars in them. You should have seen the Ford GT that he bought new in 2006 or so....or was new then he bought it as well as the original Cobra and the old Vettes and those in between that did the Corvette Challenge races...quite a collection. His collection garage is the only one I've ever been in with a bathroom built in for guests.

With respect to the color, they paint those slow ones yellow so that we all know they are still back there behind us!

The Wazoo guys did a great job with the injector replacements and buttoned it back up, started it and it ran fine. They made some comments about our favorite fuel substitute, ethanol, and injector junk which now seems to collect on them since the advent of ethanol. I think Lance ran it around the fairgrounds or the streets to be sure it was okay but I was looking at something else by then. There were sooooooo many nice Vettes to look at there. Nice to own your own fairgrounds right across from your mom's house. She was apparently in Florida.

One thing Lance said in his tour was that he and his dad were different but shared some things like racing. how were they different? He said his dad raced so every lap when he came around he could wave to his wife. Lance said he raced each lap to win! Young Lance Miller reminded me just the tiniest bit of Dale Earnhardt Junior and was with his wife and child an excellent host. Lunch was good too.

Maybe DredgeZ to tell the guy you just waxed looking ahead at you he'd been cleaned out, deepened and Dredged! LOL.

glad you can see them. The injector photos at least give people the idea.

sorry if someone doesn't have the right Windows explorer to match Photobucket. I used to pay and have my own photo site but there are so many photographers today I just use the free ones and you get what you get. PB is widely used though and instead of Windows Explorer 7 I'm running Windows Explorer 10. it's free and downloadable if that's a concern.

Our cars are just amazing and yours (Charlie's) after it was detailed then washed properly looked absolutely like a brand new car sitting in a showroom. I can extend my offer made in the garage to you yet again to buy it for the price offered, Charlie! Just kidding, have two red ones already in the garage.

wow, sorry I missed this. what a great day.

a couple of years back, Lance brought that yellow ZR-1 down and we hooked up with the Callaway guys and did the "King vs Kong" drive

4 callaways, 3 ZR-1s, each of us drove all 7 cars through the clifton area back roads for about 20 min each. it was a HOOT

let me know if you guys might be interested in doing something like this again.

you get a chance to check out the "feel of various" mods, and experience some great VA roads. we could easily do this at Skyline or on any of the nice roads around here.

time is right. might be able to talk Andy Bolig into sponsoring another article like the last one. we each wrote up our impressions and experiences driving the cars. it was cool

back to Lance's car. it had BIG gears (4.33 I think) and some GSCs that were like iron. we were all just croozin and respecting each others car to not get anyone nervous, but I can tell you his car ran good back then.

Lance,

hopefully you got some fresh skins on that beast!!

thanks for the pics. what a great collection. sounds like a great time was had by all.:handshak::-D

Thanks for the very kind words Lance.
Brian detailed or should I say, paint corrected my car last summer around August. It had leaf shadows, halos and needed help. He kept it for a week and did both interior and the exterior. Like you said, looks like a new car. Only problem is with paint chips on the hood but with 65,000 miles and being a driver, you have to expect that.
Great meeting you and looking forward to seeing you on the next outing.
