WAZOO Family,
After a great day at Phil's this past Saturday, we had a little bit of spirited driving on our way to dinner.... as would be expected. A comment was made about the shift light inside my vent, as it was visible from the Z following behind me. It is a Harlan shift light - I've had it in the car for 10 years now, and never know it is there until I need it. I never look at the tach, rather it is always there to tell me what I want to know without looking, and without blinding me.
The goodness of the light is that it is self-contained, and adjustable in 100 RPM steps from 500 RPM to 12000 RPM without additional pills or modules. I disassembled mine, and located just the LEDs in the dead space of the right driver's vent. The module remains under my shift console, so it's not painful if I want to make an adjustment (I haven't in 10 years). I've been really happy with the light and believe it would be an enhancement that every ZR-1 owner must have.

More information on the light can be found on the Harlan Engineering website at: http://harlan-engineering.com/store/shiftlight/shiftlight.html
If you want to see mine in action, here's a video from 2003...http://www.corvetteaddiction.com/ZR1public/images/events/Texasmile/Mark3.avi
I've contacted Harlan, and he is willing to provide a discount for a group buy - normal price is $55; if I can get a commitment from 7 or more WAZOO members, our price will be ~$43ea for the red LED lights.
I've also discussed with Rich (Scrrem) and he is willing to do a WAZOO install day at his home in Alexandria. Our plan is for Rich and I to set up everything we need to do a group install.... yes, everyone will have work to do. We'll setup an assembly line and make a WAZOO day of it!
I plan on making an order with Harlan later this week, and we will setup a WAZOO install day once we receive the lights. I do not plan on shipping these, rather intend on these to be for the event or for members in the local area. Please post if you would like to place an order for one.
Thanks!
Mark
