Does anyone have pics of the inside of a B&B series 1-2-3 muffler? I just got a nice set of B&B's but trying to identify what series they are. Is there any easy way to tell what series they are?

Series 3 is most restrictive, Series 1 least.

Correct. Which is the reason why I am trying to identify the set I purchased recently.

I am uploading a few pics of the mufflers. They say "Tri-Flo" on the edge of the exhaust tip. What throws me off is that there looks like a 45 degree plate inside of the chamber:

So, hopefully this helps identify them.

My guess is Series 3.
BTW, did you change your mind on selling the car?

Si. I gave her a good wash and wax and put some new Weld race wheels on. She looked too good to sell. I'll be taking her to Corey H. in the coming weeks to get full porting and polishing as well as Pete's cams.

It's a shame these appear to be the series 3. They look so good. I have a set of Dynomax mufflers on the car now which I believe are the straight thru design. I don't wanna go backwards in horsepower. Guess I'll be putting these for sale.

Those Weld wheels look good!
What size, offset etc are they? Spacers?

Thanks. No spacers. Got the stock ZR1 offset and size for the rears. The fronts are 17x4's. The car definitley lost some weight lol

I think Dom is on the money with Series 3. Check out Marc's presentation and that is the same that my Z has. You could always ask Marc and he will know for sure. :handshak:

Yes I agree that plate inside the muffler just keeps bothering me. I know they will probably look and sound better than what i have now. So I am thinking I have 3 options at this point:

1. Sell the B&B's and stay with what I have
2. Cut off the mufflers entirely. Best performance and weight reduction savings with this approach. I know it will be loud but i drive the car about 300 miles a year lol
3. Install the B&B's and install exhaust cutouts. Not sure if I would wanna mess with the electronic kind. Maybe some sort of cutout that comes with a wingnut so I can undo it at the track and then put it back on for the street.

Hmmm lots to think about...

Nacho, I can't help but notice the nitrous bottle lurking in the background. Any plans for that puppy?

lol that belongs to my other toy - a 1964 Nova. She's a verrry nasty girl. But, I do have a spare bottle that I've considered installing on the Z. My goal after Corey finishes the port work on the Z is a solid 124mph in the 1/4. Then, maybe a conservative 125 shot might get me 128-130mph maybe?

Love it! My first car was a 1963 ChevyII. Two cars later and I was driving my first 69 Vette.

If you are at Corey's you might want to look at my B&B mufflers. I don't think I will be needing them. I'm not sure what series they are.

All good choices you have there and too bad there was not an easy/cheap way of removing that baffle (I know B&B will do it, but it might not be worth the cost in the end). I'm glad you decided to keep your Z as that is a pretty rare color and looks so wicked the way you have it set up. I love that Nova too!! I'm taking off my B&B version 3? to replace with Dynomax Ultraflos as soon as I get off my arse and put the headers back on and new X pipe. Best wishes for the resolution to make you happy.
