Considering removing the AC system while the plenum and IH are out
for porting. I know some of you have done it but a search did not turn
up much info. I rarely use it and am looking for free horsepower.

Pros/cons of doing it?

Is there a "how to" somewhere?

What would the new belt size be?

Any chip changes required?

If decide to do it later, can it be done w/o pulling the plenum?

Thanks

Remove the compressor, condenser and lines all the way to the heaterbox/firewall,i bought a regalur C4 heater box cut it and made a custom box basicly it looks like a no A/C option box, still have heat.
You can still run a belt from what i remember you will need 69 inch belt basicly the part # would be K6690 or K66900 belt part #'s are there size for example K6 is 6 ribs and 6900 is 69.00 inches if it says 6950 then this is 69.50 inches etc,.
I have pictures somewhere of the custom heater box if i find them i will post, the rest of the stuff to remove is straight forward.

If you don't race roundy round tracks heck take out the oil cooler the
T-stat in the cooler don't open till 195* i never see mine go past 185* without the cooler.
If you decide to remove the cooler you will need to remove the t-stat/valve.
