Why do people tend to use the MY nomenclature? Just wondering???
What's the purpose? It drives me nuts. I'm a little nuts anyway and this just pushes the issue. LOL

I think it just sounds grammatically incorrect. Grammatically.......never used that word before. LOL
Doesn't just saying 90 or 1990 work fine????

The one that gets me is 'Fitment'. Which is fine in Australia or Britain.... kind of like saying 'went to hospital'. This works in the commonwealth, but sometimes we should stick to American lingo.

Ha Ha. I only use it to be as clear a possible. As we well know the 90 was a one of I use it often when trying to discuss changes like interiors and such.
Actually most of this forum is best viewed with a beer regardless of the MY :-D
I think Brett needs a beer:icon_pai::cheers: Or a hug

YES!!!!
I use MY sometimes because I have had people who say that because a vehicle HAS to be made in the year it is designated in. Like a 1996 car HAS to be made in 1996 to be included in MY1996, which is obviously not true.
As we all know the MY run of a vehicle often runs well outside of the actual calendar year. Kinda like fiscal year (FY),

Or RPM's?
Revolutions Per Minute "s"
or Cash Money. "I'll buy that from you if you take cash money."
or "Irregardless" " I want it done, irregardless of what happens."
Of course the pronunciation of the word "ask" as "aks" or "axe". "I want to aks you a question."
or the pronunciation of "supposedly" as "supposably" "She was supposably at home today." That one really drives me wild.

Oh, and the proper usage is "supposed to", not "suppose to". As in, I was supposed to run my car at the track this weekend, but now I have a flat tire.
Fellow grammar and spelling Nazis, unite! :p

but you can't go missing.

If people are going to use Model Year in abbreviated form it should be M.Y. 1993 and most are too lazy for that. The expression which has crept into language from the kids that just gets under my skin and irritates is when someone says, "You know, like I really dig that blood red color," or "Like, wow, dude." Lazy people using words badly......"like, disgusting."
