Ok, so I got my rear calipers polished to match my C6Z polished calipers. The metal quality is NOT the same, but they're ok. Question is what do I paint the abutment bracket?
Silver/Chrome
Black
Red
Here's the calipers:

Dom,
Just my opinion, but I would give them the same treatment as the front abutment brackets.
When I rebuilt and painted my rear calipers(red), I also painted my rear rotors red....then realized that my combination up front was red calipers/black rotors. Talk about a DOHHHH!! moment. I'll get around to fixing that one of these days. BTW, my abutment brackets are black, front and rear. I feel like the black brackets make the calipers jump out at you. Kinda like they're just hanging there out in space.

Jep,
C6Z calipers are fixed not floating. No abutment bracket.

I would do a mock up of a black and silver and see which one looks better. I believe red would be out of place only because you don't have red anywhere else to pick it up. Keep us posted :flag:

Ricky,
I also have a couple of sets of decals coming for the Z06 front calipers. I originally put on a purple CORVETTE decal but it seems the color may be a bit too subtle and doesn't stand out enough for me. So I have red and black sets of decals coming since they're cheap enough. My gut is telling me black for it to stand out on the highly polished calipers sitting behind silver PC wheels.
Here's what it looks like currently.

Dom since they are decals why not stick with the C4 script which is bolder? D

GC,
I think the C4 script would look small on a 6 piston caliper the size of the C6Zs. I also like the way the circles accentuate the piston location.

Why do they NEED decals?

Hey Jep.... :notworthy
That sounds like something I would pull LOL
Dom,
What about a matte black for the bracket? That contrast will set the caliper off and draw attention to the caliper not the bracket. That is what you want anyhow.

I assumed the place you had these made did this custom so I was thnking they could curve em in the right font and add the circles as well. If not I believe you are right

I think Dom wanted something to show em off on his car with his color scheme... so his call really.

Well then the rear calipers need "attention" if you're going to polish something it might as well pass the "Harley" spec OR paint it!

I would mess around with several blk/red combos and see what it looks like. If one of the combos was to your satisfaction I would then try to transfer that theme to the rear as well. I see what you mean, the current color script is kinda washed out and doesnt pop. Good luck and keep us updated.
ps, I think a blk rotor hat might aid in the caliper pop also but it is another that you would have to test out.

So here's what I decided to do. I am going au natural'. I really liked the way the cast brackets looked up against the polished calipers. Almost a bit bronze looking. Just gave them a shot of clear.
Should be on if it stays in the 30's and sunny.
