Hi Guys,
One of our customers has brought in his black 14k mile 1990 ZR-1 for some service and we noticed the air cleaner assembly has started to split apart at the seams on both sides with a pretty large gap.
Are the regular C4 assys the same? - anyone have a part number?
Anyone have a spare? Just need the base...
Thanks,
Ed

'90MY - '95MY LT5(ZR-1) air cleaner base is the same as any LT1 - LT4 '92MY+.
GM PART#: 12553505 It's of course NLA but there should be many out there to be had. Certainly NOT LT5 specific.
I might have NOS - Can't look today but probably tomorrow. You will only need to cap off a fitting on the very later model year ducts.

Some ebay LT1 stuff is listed as 90-93, 90-96 or 92-96 and some of the filter covers look different. Owner would probably not be overly concerned about authenticity unless it was available, mainly stopping unfiltered air from getting in.
So 92-96 Lt1 will work?

Thanks for clearing that up you are talking about the base only however correct? Not the entire assembly

Actually all of it. The duct/base is the same and I believe there's maybe 3 different part numbers of "covers" (attached with 3 fasteners) for the various years. They can be used at will on any!
GC - if you meant the "flexible duct" - that is LT-5 specific.
This much of the air cleaner/duct will do all LT's ( 1, 4 or 5) Item #9 is what I'm referring to as being maybe 3 or more variations.

That one belongs to a forum member here - same user ID as his eBay seller ID! Check the snapshots and that one appears to have the typical splits in the seams also. There's probably many riding around with the same condition that the OP is looking to correct. If I were shopping I think I'd try for that latest production possible and maybe the problem was corrected in production. I've seen maybe half dozen cars with the same condition.

Actually we have hot staple gun that we bought from Eastwood but I think the split has warped and it might be difficult to get the seams to go back together - hoping to find a nice used C4 base I guess MY95-96

I found a good base in my "un-cataloged stuff."
$75.00 + shipping?

Thanks Jerry, really appreciate you looking. Talked to the owner today and he says he has found one in Lexington and will be going up there this week. If it turns out to be cracked as well we'll pick that one up from you.
