About 20 minutes ago the local importer posted a '92 ZR-1 for sale. The car just hit the port today and still has the import papers with it.
Black on black (same as my '90) but the thing looks fishy to me from the photos. I think it is a c4 automatic that someone has put badges on. Also looks like an automatic transmission. Not one photo of the engine, or a photo of the gear shift or driver's floor so I can see the pedals. Also cannot get a good look at the rear license plate area.
Fingers crossed but will have a great amount of scepticism until tomorrow afternoon.
Have copied some of the photos but not sure if it is OK for me to post them here?

Could be a conversion do the pics show a CMHSL above the rear hatch? that would be an immediate give away

Yep has one. Just found a photo that when I blew it up I could see the outline of the light.
Just let the air out of my balloon. But thanks for the calm appraisal. My only excuse is anytime it looks like I can get my paws on a Z my pulse rate shoot up.

Aren't they supposed to have them? Other wise all the LT1 cars had the new rear cover with the high mounted 3rd brake light integrated into the bumper rather than on the halo like the ZR-1's.

If it is a '92 and has one, it's a ZR1.
Keep your fingers crossed.....

Upload them to your album if you don't want to post them.

What a disappointment. Not a ZR-1. Not even the car in the 17 photos they posted. Different wheels from the photo.. Dodgy body kit. Refugee from a Japanese junk yard. Import papers suspect. VIN plate had two different rivets. Emblems all over the car. ZR-1, Z51, 5.7 etc.. Hood being held up with a taped up support rod. Signs of red, blue and maroon paint in various spots that the painter didn't tape off well. Tobacco stains on everything with a smell to match.
Seller had more excuses than carter had little liver pills. :censored:

Yep took a photographer with us. As soon as I get some snaps from him will post them up. But would be better if I sent the advert photos and then the visit pictures.
Was such a letdown had to stop by the mall an pick up some Godiva! That helped a bit.

The search will continue. Thanks Dave. I really want an Admiral blue, yellow or ruby to add to the collection. But like the others I like the start of the series and the end of the production year if at all possible. However it took a very long time to find the '90 so I will be patient eh?
And you know why I had the photographer with us! Yeah I am still a lousy photographer.

Good luck on your search for a '95 AB. They only made 12.

Yeah am aware of that fact but then of course that is the story of my life. Champagne taste on a domestic beer income.
