Hey guys did you ever wonder who picks those cars? I think I wondered about that once! Usually the only reason I'm over there is to use the Tech section and to pay my dues.

Anyway last last Saturday David J. calls me up and says "Hey, you want to help our club?" I said "Yea, what do you need?" He says "You know the ZR-1 of the Month?" I say "Oh yea. I usually don't notice, what's up?" Dave says "Well we want that to work. Be fresh and actually have one each month." Dave just says, after I tell him I may screw this up, "Will you help?"

Okay, so here's the skinny on what the object is going to be with the ZR-1 of The Month...( Oh, I took the job ) But here are the "needs" to make this work.
1.) Dave K says Hi Resolution photos. ( NO, I don't know what that is! ) 10 Photos.
2.) Interesting back drops so we get a great headliner photo for the web page. ( Dave K said that too! )
3.) I want to do a narrative on you and your car. So I'll need something that gives me the history of you and the car. I'll need photos also that show what you had to do to get your car to where it is now. You can write the captions or I will; I'll even write the history if you just give me bullet points. I want to make this easy on you. I'll even do a phone interview, on my dime, if that is easy for you, and I'll take the notes! :)
Basically the 3 things above are what I think I would need to be able to have you and your car's personalities tell the story.

:icon_scra I think I need to add this bit. If I were looking at the Z of the month some of the things I'd like to glean for the article would be:
How many owners. What was the car like when you got it? What it took to get it to where it is now? Does the car have any special history? I don't think any of that is too intrusive, right?

I figure to use our PM system to ask if you and your car would volunteer. I'll give you my e-mail addy up front. We can decide what works for you to give me the history: you write it; I write it from e-mails or phone conversations. You get to see my written work before it is final. I'll need a link to your photobucket page if you want me to pick the picts; or you send me links to the ones you want used. I'm trying to think of everything, to make this easy for the volunteers.

Oh, I already have the Feb. 2013 car in the breech. I just have to write Her up and get it in before the deadline.:pray Sorry I forgot to add this, and don't take this the wrong way either, I will be the person who is picking which owner and car each month...that's why I added the no one died comment. When I took the job, the "you pick the car" was in with the "what we'd like to see happen" part.

Tom

Oh, just in case this comes across as I have a big head over this....I know no one died and left me in charge. I just want to help our club. I don't have any 'sperience at this so give me 6 months, if I mess it up you can flame me all you want. I will give the club the best I can muster though.

Let the members of this site vote on them. Put up a poll and have us vote on 2 -3 cars , that sounds like fun :) ---

Maybe if I get the hang of what all I gotta do to make dead line each month, and get my s*&t together on what I need to learn about using software....yea in the future I would consider doing that. All I'm gonna say is that I feel bad about forgetting to post the part of my instructions about me picking which car and owner.

Sorry I left that part out in my original post, no, really I am sorry.:o

Just give me a chance to get this going smoothly. I'm old, but not retired. I'll still work, and go to night school also. Just let me get this down pat first, okay?

Frank, I swear I didn't touch it ( whatever Is broken ) I didn't even look at it! It wasn't me, really....I didn't even go near it. :sign12:

Cliff, thanks for the vote of confidence.

I just went to look at the mothership's way of doing it. Soo now I will say that we will need at least 10 photos. One that shows the car in all it's finished, to this point, glory. Then there is a photo story of nine pictures, it's a slide show, that show the highlights of the car. So I will ask for 10 photos please.

The management of the photos, for now due to my ignorance, will be in the hands of Dave K. Hopefully I will learn how to use that software so I don't have to bother Dave K every month.

Stock is good. The number of pics can vary, it's not fixed.

Thanks

What, no fuzzy dice hanging from the rear view mirror?
You need to glue some body moldings and change you wheels to the latest style and pin stripping and neon lights under the body, not to mention some stickers on the windows and chrome plating everything in the engine compartment.

Tom, I think you did a wonderful job in picking out the current selection. I think the 40th Anniversary Ruby is my favorite color, throw in some OZ wheels, Brembo brakes, coil over shocks, does not get any better IMO.
Okay so I am a little biased.

Now don't forget the fender skirts and curb feelers on all four corners!!!

:-D Robert, glad you liked it. I liked it also. It was good work putting that display together!........ but I can't take credit for that work as I was asked to help out this past Saturday. I will try to do as good a job from Feb on out. :icon_boun
