The purpose of this thread is to document acronyms we're using such that there is one place to go and lookup or add new acronyms.

By convention, please cut and paste this list into you comment and add more acronyms. It shouldn't be hard to come up with 90% of them in short order. Please insert you addition in alphabetical order. Product codes such as FX3 probably do not belong here.

ABS = Anti-lock Brake System
BG = Bowling Green (KY)
C4 = A Corvette MY 1984 to 1996
CAB = Callaway Aero Body
CCM = Central Control Module
CHP = Crankshaft Horse Power

DFCO = Deceleration Fuel Cut Off
DOHC = Double Over Head Cam
DRM = Doug Rippie Motorsports
ECM = Electronic Control Module (or is it Engine Control Module?)
ET = Elapsed Time
FBI = (Fast Boyz of Illinois) ???

PS think of this as a new "Two Word" game except it's useful and is an acronym instead of two words.

Your additions are indeed useful.
And they are complete with definitions and
further the cause of explaining things to those new to the forum.

This is a great idea, I think we should have a master list. Just for those days I get a brain freeze and can't remember I'll have a list to go to. I'll add one I haven't seen yet.

It's shown as:
LPE = Lingenfelter Precision Engineering

Should be:
LPE = Lingenfelter Performance Engineering

Just sayin' Scott...

I missed that detail. Most others simply cut and paste the list and make corrections themselves such as what Paul did already.
Thanks Paul.

As for the discussion on "CRAP" I have to agree.
However, I learned at a very young age acronyms, no matter how much I dislike them, are a part of life. If you can't stop them then it's best to define them somewhere. It's like any job. It's not done until the paper work is done. You must "WIPE" no matter how much you dislike it. WIPE = We Ignore Poor English

Great thread scott and yes a backup complete list of acronyms is always helpful for those like myself learning some of the short hand tricks. :thumbsup:

Maybe the "Common Forum Acronyms" needs to the a "solution" or better yet in the FAQ section.
I feel for anyone new joining this forum.
You could
FWIW the SES or LTPWS
for the
ZR-1 of MY
for the
OP in the FSM and
BS about the
INFL REST instead.
OMG I have
CRAP on the brain.

Same goes with learning BB Code for example.

One of the original members of CRAP
And applying for membership in WIPE :D

WIPE out CRAP !!!!
