Hi Everyone,

My name is Erik, i'm from Central MA and I recently bought a black / black 90 ZR1 with the Callaway Supernatural package, has the 475 horse motor, the aerobody, coil overs, OZ wheels, etc. It just broke 20k miles, I have the original owners kit, Callaway paperwork, etc. The plennum was polished by the previous owner. I'm thrilled to have it, I grew up with my Father and his friends restoring mid-years, many of them eventually bought ZR1s (at one point 4 of them had ruby 40th's ZR1's back in 93) that we drove to Carlisle each year. One of the ruby cars is still around. Looking forward to detailing it up a bit this winter for some cruise nights and also driving it to C @ C next August

I also have a 90 coupe 6-speed L98 car that I have had for many years that I used to do alot of show and shines with as well as a real low mile 87 IROC L98 original tire survivor car and a clean low mile 87 GTA L98 hardtop.

You guys have a great site and I look forward to chatting & always learning more about these cars. I'll try to post some pics

Thank you all for the compliments!! Really looking forward to the upcoming season, I plan to take it to as many cruise nights and show and shines as I can. The car itself in my opinion could stand a good paint polishing (black is tough) and undercarriage detailing which I plan to do over the coming months. Yes, I have known Rich for a long time, he took me out for a ride in his old ruby 40th ZR1 when it was near new, I was 13 at the time and it left a huge impression on me  These cars are fun!

Thanks again for the nice words!

Thanks everyone!! I really appreciate the nice words!! I will have more pics soon and I hope to get to spend a reasonable amount of time detailing it up as well.

Here is one more of it the night that I picked it up. I still can't get over that this car was available at my local Chevy dealership about 10 miles away and my trade-in was a restored 70 GTO 400 / 4-speed. Not a typical new car dealer transaction LOL, but it all worked out very well!

Thanks again everyone!!

@Wayne, we'll definitely have to meet up at some cruise nights!! Sounds like you live close by!

As for the motor mods, they pulled the motors out, blueprinted and balanced them, lots of porting i'm told, cams were different, and the computers tuned. I have a bunch of paperwork and a dyno sheet from 1993 when mine was done, i'll take some pics / scans and post up the info!

the cams are the same on the 475 supernatural they just timed them different , unless they (callaway) did a special set just for your car. on my 92 callaway 475 they just times the cams different . sure wish mine was an aero body car .

Hello, nice puchase. I was with the previous owner at Carlisle for that Corvette Fever photo and also with him at the open house at Callaway. Never thought he would sell it but maybe a trade in for something newer changed his mind. I own a 1990 RED Callaway Areobody CR1 Supernatural 490 #10 of 11, which was also featured in Corvette Fever in September of 2010. You have a sweet ride take care of it.

You are probably right. You never know, he may have traded it in on a new ZR1 and gotten a great deal. I myself have gotten offers when I have shown mine at various dealer corvette sponsored events but never entertained them as the desire was never there. If the time ever came I would pursue the private sector and just be patient. These CR1's will never be duplicated so the desire and want will always be there in the collector car market for the rare, well maintained and documented few.

the reason that zr-1 guys never bothered lying to each other about mods is simple, when you start modding them they usually make around the same rwhp.

had this converstaion at BG one year
"what's done to it"
'lpe 415'
"so mid 500 rear wheel"
'yep'

usually the same mods will make roughly the same hp in these cars

I just did some digging and it appears as you can get a non-aerobody Supernatural. In my digging I discovered that GM reactivated RPO B2K for 2012.
620hp@6700rpm/555 lb/ft@4100rpm torque, these are SAE net ratings using a positive displacement Eaton TVS2300 blower.. The car is validated at 10.9 seconds 127mph in the 1/4 mile. Only 25 B2K's were authorized.
http://www.callawaycars.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/25th-Ann-Spec-p2-e1335887483470.jpg

Package costs $52,980.

If it did not come with the Aerobody from Callaway it was not classified with Callaway as a CR1. There were quite a few more than 11 combined Supernatural 475's and 490's built motors in stock ZR1 bodys, but only 11 CR1's with the full treatment i.e Aerobody, interior, suspension and exhaust. This is direct from Callaway Sales rep.

He traded this car plus a really nice supercharged Trailblazer SS on a new black / black 6-speed ZL1 Camaro. That ZL1 is a gorgeous car!

Sometimes the numbers just work and the transaction takes place quickly, so there is no need to have to advertise, deal with people trying to hammer on you on your price, etc... Sales tax on a ZL1 is pricey too, but only having to pay the difference with trading in these cars i'm sure put a big dent in it :)

In regards to the cams, on the 490 package the cams are different. I infact have the original set that was in my car sitting on my shelf. I was lucky enough that the original owner provided me with all the original parts that were replaced after it went through its transformation.
