Robert,

That's look great and thanks for offering.

I'll would like to buy one with the splash logo.

Years ago I had a plan to do a recessed foam with ZR-1 logo, but it does not seem I'll ever get around to it.

I think the color would be no big deal to change, what were the other changes that you had in mind?

I was thinking maybe the splash in blue (as close to AB as possible) and then maybe KING OF THE HILL under that in blue as well.

If changing the phrase is a pain it's no biggie.

How big are the splash letters?

Bob,

Put me down for the ZR-1 splash one. Are you doing different headliner colors or is the gray/black the only one available. My headliner is getting a bit droopy, so this would look great. How do we pay?

I'll never see a dime for that start-up...

After posting the custom re-fab procedure on one of these boards in '07, I told a reply-er with a '93 to get the Ruby felt, and emboss the 40th logo from a hacked Eckler's T-shirt.

Never saw it, until it was listed IN THE ECK CATALOGUE CUSTOM HEADLINER, the next year!!! Good idea guys!

My college logo in '07 (at vette get-together in '08), on black felt

I talked with the embroider today and the ZR-1 Splash outline in white looks like crap. We are going to stick with the current Headliners adding a 40th Anniversary headliner.

Here is what is ordered right now.
Everyone wants the ZR-1 Splash.
XFIREZ51-1
FULLY VETTED -1 (If you want Admiral Blue Splash with KING OF THE HILL) there is no extra cost.
Dynomite -2
Kevin -1
HawaiiZR1 -1
ZZZZZR1 -1 (do you want a special splash with all of those Z?)
CJ -1
Russell -1
Blue Flame -1

Total -10

Can't find those custom liner's in current Eckler's.......................

And now with a polycarbonate top, as opposed to painted, how would a DOUBLE-Sided logo show through on the OUTside???

Absolutely perfect.......with the foam backing and the custom embroidery.....how do I say this without acting feminine :D

Gorgeous

Now......so I do not screw up the installation of this new liner.
1. How should I prepare the surface removing existing liner?
2. What glue or bonding technique is best for this new liner with foam backing?
3. Any precautions/tecniques so I do not mess up the installation of this gorgeous foam backed liner?

Thank you....appreciate it

Got mine today, Robert. On the kitchen table the lettering still looks to small but I think once I get it in it will be perfect. Really high quality feel to it. Thanks for putting this group buy together.

I'm thinking of letting a local interior shop put mine in. I don't want to do anything to screw this beauty up.

Thanks again, Robert.

Guys,

I finally attempted installing my headliner a few weeks ago, BUT the foam backing is pretty rancid so I need another one of those. I did this some years ago on my 84 and was able to buy a new styrofoam piece w foam but the usual suspects don't seem to carry it any longer.
Anybody got a source?

I just installed yesterday the ZR-1 splash with Life Begins At 180 mph.

The BLACK Suede is absolutely the best for color and smoothness

Perfect in every way and absolutely NO SAG
I used Headliner Glue from ORielly auto parts applying three coats to the existing Foam Base (existing Foam Base is about 3/4 inch thick) and a three coats to the new Headliner.

The existing Foam Base was glued in about 4 places to the top but came out easily without much damage at all.

The existing Foam Base is wedged in on all sides by the top frame and can be pushed down easily popping into place. I laid the new Headliner (with three coats of Headliner Glue) on top of the Foam Base (Foam Base on floor with three coats of Headliner Glue) and smoothed out rubbing the Headliner with hands outward from center. I then folded over the excess on the radius of the Foam Base and cut leaving about 1/4 inch excess Headliner material.

I then popped the Foam Base into place making sure the Headliner excess material was folded under the top frame on all sides. I did NOT glue in any way the Existing Foam Base as it is wedged solid into place and will be very easy to remove just in case.

ASOLUTELY BETTER THAN NEW
I had trouble figuring out which way I wanted the lettering and splash to read.....finally figured I would not be looking up when driving so installed such that the lettering and splash could be read looking up and rearward from outside open window/door :p

I hear you and rather leave it there, but I will be here at least 3 years so I guess I have to bring it to Cali. It might end up being a big paper weight like in Japan. At least it would be with me so I can install all the stuff I bought over the years if I can't drive it.
