I thought this was some sort of ZR-1 club
based in the North West. Never really checked
it out. Went to their web-site and it just looks
like a sales website (?) for tuning. Anybody know?

Do you know of any other ZR-1 owners that are in Team ZR-1 that are
also on this net? Do you have GTG's? Events, like races?

Here are a couple of PNW sites... maybe one of them is the one that you had in mind?

- This one I have looked at a few times in the past while searching for other cars and owners in the area when I moved here: http://www.pnwzr1.net/ (http://www.pnwzr1.net/)

- This one I JUST found tonight while looking for the one above: http://www.pnwzr1.com/ (http://www.pnwzr1.com/)

Anyone have any experience with this shop? It would be nice to know that there is a trusted source for work in this area. I have a few things that I'd like to have done but don't have the tools, friends or know-how to do it myself right now.

I think Mim Petersen knows some of the BG group, I have seen pictures of her at last years event. All three of the ZR1 owners that are my friends autocross other Corvettes rather than their ZR's, me included. We ran 17 Western States Corvette Council autocross events in 2012.

The .com site belonged/belongs to Jeff Flint (aka jeffvette), a known thief - not trustworthy.

Dave:

It's disturbing to see someone bad mouthed without citing examples of such thievery and untrustworthiness.

So I will simply say when I was working on my '92 ZR-1 and needed a laundry list of parts, Jeff came through with what I needed and delivered timely without any difficulty of completing the transaction.

I agree. I have beautiful top end powder coating by Jeff, numerous ZR-1 parts, and HOURS of time helping me with my car.

i'm aware of some hard feelings between the registry and jeff, but i'm not aware of what happened. I've always found jeff to be helpful and willing to lend a hand when asked.

Joe,

Jeff Flint did "borrow" club funds back in late 2009 while teasurer, Dave Kelly bought / never recieved SS oil cooler lines and I know of more than 3 others who never recieved items / service from Jeff.

I totally understand why Dave wrote what he did and also why you aren't happy saying "thievery" without specific details.

Back to what Ted was asking about... We need to work on NW and West events!!!! (Ted did you get my emails?)

I hear you David and I'm aware of the many situations surrounding Jeff. I just wanted to make a point that a person shouldn't make open ended accusations about someone without the credible support of documentation. I just wanted to present a case that supported a positive interaction with the guy.

In this case it's a situation that has been beaten to death and Jeff has been banished and has gone away, enough said.

Dave and I took our discussion off line and communicated our concerns over this thread in a very positive manner. :handshak:

I can tell everyone one thing for sure. Jeff at one time was the major contributor to this site and to the Registry. Before most of you were here. He was always jumping in helping whomever, whenever he could. He was and still is one of the most knowledgable people in the country on the ZR-1.

Something went wrong somewhere and he has paid dearly for it. I don't know the whole background as it wasn't publicised (sp) and I was a member then too. The officers did all that behind closed doors, just like they are doing now.

I am not sticking up for Jeff, just sayin'. There are a lot of people here who don't know him and what he did for the Registry, the forums and a lot of members at one time...and some even now.

Thanks for your comments Joe.

I agree completely with you John. Jeff was a founding member of this registry and for years was the only tuner constantly posting free information and advice to members about problems they were having with their ZR-1s. He personally hosted the only gathering on the West Coast until his association with the registry was halted and I had the pleasure of attending the last 2 gatherings. I can't count how many times Jeff has helped me over the years. The vast amount of good Jeff did for so many members of this registry seems to have been swept under the rug and that is truly a shame. Jeff's great knowledge of the ZR-1 and Corvettes in general will unfortunately never be enjoyed by this registry again.
It is nice to see Joe, Ted, Kevin and John are willing to acknowledge the help and service they received from Jeff.
