Was out for the swap to auto, but I had the shop put it back in to bring home during the holidays, since they're not wrenching anything until 01/02. (red ---> black interior conversion WIP).

I will get Jennings Transmission in Goldsboro NC to put their name on it.

Yessir - that's a distinct possibility here...

With such air work, what then would be the flow 'limitations'? Intake side? Exhaust side?

It's 100% stock now, except for Mr. Haibeck's ECM module (and the 4L60e, if it ever finds its' way into the car :rolleyes: ).

porting the intake, without headers, you pick up about 25 rwhp sometimes more or less depending on the health of the engine, rpm range improves too

What's up John...

I wanted $600 for it, at least. That's the LOWEST that I see them 'Sold' for on eBay for problem-free ZF's. Another guy on the boards has it now, trying to get me under $600 before he installs it.

It has 32k on it (documented), and worked fine when pulled from mine (33k now), to put in an automatic.

The Reverse lockout ring on the shifter stick is broken. Getting into 'R' was a bear. Besides that, no problem.

It whines. All Black Tag '90 and 91' ZF's are notorious for this whine. You might know this already; if not, see plenty of threads on this topic, as well as some other sites' info. It has to do with the cut of the gears, which happens to give extra strength.

I can ship no problem; it won't be cheap tho', I'm sure.

Let me know if interested; I'll go get it right away if you are...

I'll see about some estimates otherwise in a day or 2 here. If you'll pick it up from truck lines' distribution center (where there is one near you, I don't know at the moment - surely in Chicago), but that will shave $$ off of cost.

For the record, I want to make it clear that I'm not the one in posession of the transmission. I responded to this ad, agreed to purchase the trans at advertised price, and was subsequently informed that the seller did not have posession of the transmission and that it was not actually available for purchase. :(

Yep he even delivered. Then the first buyer wanted to pay less. Kinda jammed up this entire deal. He was going back to pick it up and the first buyer changed his mind again. Hate to think a member caused all of the BS and kinda left the seller in a lurch. Which ended up pissing off other potential buyers.

Let me clear the air a bit.

I am the one who got the tranny from chuck. I picked it up in north carolina and he wanted me to wait till I installed it to make payment.

I did install it, and there is MAJOR whine to it in the first 3 gears and in neutral, that seem'd either to be a bearing or something inside the tranny.This whine is LOUD(like it has gears in the engine loud)..I cant imagine a newer tranny would roll of the showroom a whine like this...

HOWEVER, I HAD to go with it temporarly for C@C and was not sure if it would shell out or ????:confused:(I just went through the ringer on 2 transmissions for my truck that were "good")(I really need to build my own tranny's);)

Chuck was gracious enough to allow me to make sure it would make it. also he also was not sure what the issue was either.

Due to extreme family situations I have not toached the car but once since C@C. But the whine is still a concern.

Due to this issue I asked a bit less for the tranny becuase I may have to send it to Bill to be rebuilt.($600 is great for a tranny that does not have to be rebuilt)

AT THAT moment he replied he had already put it back on the site and other people wanted it....(mind you its still mounted in #00077)..:icon_scra

SOOO..I agreed to pay the full amount because I dont have the time to yank it out and so on..and in the end hopefully it is a great deal for a black tag.

John; I am really sorry about this error...

I thought perhaps I'd made clear the marginal 'reservation' detail pertinent to the offer to you there.

I did presume that the person in whose hands the tranny is NOW, had not had the tranny installed, and did not want it, after 6 months, and that at worst, I'd be able to go get it, and consummate the deal with you.

Again, I apologize about any mis-understanding here, and the let-down as well...

YOU made the choice without even replying to my offer and going straight to the website and putting it up for sale=D>........AND THEN asking me to smooth it over with the guy who wanted it and was pissed that you actually didnt have it??????

I made an offer on a tranny with a problem in my posession...I didnt back you in a corner.

All you had to do was say "no..I cant take less than $600.00 if you dont want it we can meet up and I can get it back"..I would have considered the situation and ultimately agreed:cheers:.

THAT...did not happen. AND THAT is why people are pissed on this site becuase you offered a tranny that you didnt even have.
