Personally I think the registry needs to expand its capability for hosting pics and videos otherwise quite a bit of data will be lost when someone's PB account gets deleted.

Remember, it's always better to crop your picture before resizing.
Sometimes you can avoid resizing all together.
I won't go into how to crop or resize since you can do that locally on your own PC and as trivial as it is to do, it's different based on you app.

The new website technology allows us to do this and is certainly something we could look at making more available as we move forward. Video is a little tricky simply because of the size of the files - it could get expensive for the hosting. I agree it would be nice to have this so we don't lose pics though.
Thanks
Dave

Normally I crop my photo when I position the camera before I take the photo. In this photo I wanted to show a lot of my "crop" (Corn Field) and South Dakota Blue Sky :D
I'm not sure I've met anyone that does not select via the view finder and there for crop the initial pic.

Having said that, the Smart Phone technology is changing as is Photobucket resizing technology as we speak. I can now take a picture in the field with IPhone 4s or IPhone 5, upload to photobucket, resize photo, copy IMGs and paste IMGs into a post on this Forum all within a couple minutes without moving.
I tried this on an iphone. It was clunky and the screen too small.
I can do all on a Galaxy phone and post in 15 secs. I see that
getting shorter with practice.
I stood next to a guy with an iPhone 5 trying to show how fast it's network speed was by running a net speed test. He showed 8mb speed. I downloaded and ran the same ap and had 28mb speed! It was hysterical.
He paid $400 for it with a 2yr contract. I paid $0 and a 2yr contract. My screen was noticeably brighter and bigger. (thanks to super AMOLED display)
These photos are from my Photo Album on this Forum which photos have been resized using PAINT before uploading.
The aspect ratio of all three photos remains the same. I have not figured out how to place the two small photos on the left above the middle photo.

You had trouble stacking the images?
You mean like this?
Just select, cut, put in line feed, paste in new line.

I think that going forward, highly desired threads with pictures should be captured into the newsletter.
As a member of the Registry, I would hate to think I am paying to store images like those in this thread.

Actually.....add two more small pictures so you have 2 small stacked on 2 small stacked on one medium and to the right of that the larger picture which is the same height of two small and one medium stacked on top of each other. If you do that for me I will....I will ....Oh.... Like You A Lot. But keep in mind the photo stack I am looking for exhausts the post photos/smilies quantity limit of 6 so you cannot use any smilies....maybe not even in your signature...which I am not sure about either.

You mean like this? With lots of smiley faces? :p:-x:cry::handshak::-D

Dave is working on a solution for that in the transformed "How to" section of the old webpage into the "Technet" section of the new. Ideally the tool and/or convention for conversion of threads to articles will drop various conversations and distil to focused articles.

In this reply I deleted three of your smiles so I could add three of my own for 6 total......ha....but that will work.
Thanks Scott....

The Photobucket Mobile Application for IPhone (Smart Phone for scottfab) is slick, nifty, cool, or as we say.......Superb :D
The only drawback is unless you upgrade to Photobucket Pro (where you can turn off Show ads) you have to look at a small advertisment on the screen from time to time.

"Smart Phone" is a phrase used to describe iPhones as well as Android and Windows based phones. I happen to have a giant screen Galaxy which is an android based device. It comes with a build in photo editor. I can then post to FB or CF or this forum. With practice I hope to be able to do it in the 15-20second range.

My Iphone 4s is 2.5 inches x 4.5 inches x .5 inches with nice Otter protector which I can drop the phone and not an issue. Fits easily in my pocket.
Just the screen on a Galaxy III is bigger than the whole iPhone you have.
My phone fits nicely in a breast pocket or my pants pockets. The stock batter does not last as long though. I had to buy a larger capacity battery.
Scott........with your "android" based device, do you have Apple Applications? If so.....how do you get Apple Applications on your android device?
That'd be like putting a ford engine in a chevy. Android phones, just like ipones, have way more apps than anyone could ever use. Can you touch phones together to transfer files? (pics or video or ???)
Do you have DocsToGO? That is the most nifty Apple Application I have found and you can copy over wireless all Excel, Word, and other files from your laptop to your Iphone in seconds. The Excel files copied from Laptop to Iphone function as Excel on your Iphone just like on Laptop.
Yes, there is a DocstoGo for android. I don't use it. Have no need for it but Google "DocstoGo for Android". It's all there.
The reason I ask is my wife (used to be Dynamite on this Forum until she was banned) has an android (forget exactly which one at the moment) and does not have all the nifty Apple Apps I have on my Iphone 4s.
Three are more Android based phones that iphones being sold. But there are more apps for iphone. However look closely. I submit when you're over 380,000 apps, who cares

But not too how much more unstable the iPhones are:

The Androids have bigger and brighter screens and load faster.

I think that happened back when I left the forum for a while too. It was a time when some were allowed to call names with impunity while others were admonished. It's no longer that way.

I will be experimenting here with photos just to see what I can do with Iphone from shed :D

Is that a wood burning kitchen cooking stove? My great gramma use to cook with one in Tacoma. She hated using electricity. She'd say "It cost too much"?
Where are you in SD? My brother lives in Sioux Falls.
