I just got my insurance renewal from Hagerty and its gone from $760 a year to $880,2 cars.No tickets, one claim in the last 12 months.Anybody else noticed their policy going up?I dont really want the hassle of shopping for a new INS company, been pretty happy with Hagerty but if they raise my rate, have no choice really.

Check out J.C. Taylor. I pay $435 for a stated $30,000 policy. No tickets.

Jeff, it might just be overall loss pressure driving the rates, not necessarily your driving, etc....Hurricane Sandy will have some impact on countrywide rates too....call them and discuss...

I had Harerty for years on the 3 cars it was about 1,200.00 a year but in my state they would not give me uninsured motorist coverage. I moved to the NCM insurance and got the uninsured motorist coverage and a higher agreed value on the cars with a 800 something bill. Plus the NCM gets a part of that. Give Adam a call and just see it couldn't hurt.

Might be a stacking issue in your state.....some states you can stack limits on cars that were not even in the accident....
So if you have 7 cars with 100K UM limits in most states you get 100K limits....if the state requires stacking they would have to give you $700K for one accident...kinda hard to stay afloat in those situations...I would have to look at what LA law says, there is a reason they do not offer.

LA not a stacking state, will have to look up what the issue is

Two observations: Never had insurance where I was paid on a claim that my rates didn't go up and second get agreed value insurance, NOT stated value.

Thanks for all the tips guys,Im looking at Grundy as well as a few others. One problem I have going with the NCM insurance is the carrier in A.M.I.G.Years ago I had Leland-West which is a broker for A.M.I.G,cover 2 of my cars. One was involved in an accident not my fault.A.M.I.G did everything they could do to keep from paying the bill in full, typical insurance BS.If the NCM had another insurance carrier other than A.M.I.G I would definitely check into this.

i'd say the claim may have something to do with it

What's the difference?

Stated value sets the maxium value the company will pay....so with a stated you get the ACV at the time of loss, up to the Stated Value...
Agreed means that what you get in the event of a total loss, the Value as agreed upon on the policy

Yeah, I just looked at my declarations page and it says Agreed Value = $30,000. So, I guess it is a Agreed Value policy.

Got in touch with Hagerty today, the claim I had a few months ago has nothing to do with the higher rates. As it was explained to me the rate was raised because I live in Ca,sound like BS to me.Grundy gave me a qoute of $600 with agreed value at $40,000.Called JC Taylor, their quote was at $500 but they would only go to $30,000 agreed value at total loss. When I mentioned to the Hagerty rep that I was shopping for a new insurance company, she didny really care.C-ya Hagerty.

I dumped USAA after 20 years and went with Wawanesa for now (they only do business in two US states). Only a little bit cheaper though.
I tell you what, if the average sale price of the early ZR-1's goes any lower, I'm gonna start looking that the possibility of liability insurance.

We went with Collector Car Insurance Inc., Agent Sandy Charvant has been doing collector insurance for about 18 yrs. Give her a call she answered a lot of questions other insurance guys didn't know or wouldn't commit to. She's really nice. We pay around $550 with agreed value $35000.
