Hurricane Sandy has devastated parts of the NE.
We've all see and heard about it.
It puts into perspective a lot of things.
Lets resolve to keep them in our prayers please.
But for the grace of God .....

Any idea how many club members were directly effected? I know Frank (FU2) posted that his house was completely demolished.
If there is anything that those of who want to help can do please let us know. Can we start a PayPal fund? Send care packages? Gift cards for restaurants so you don't have to think about eating for the next few weeks? Anything?
I consider you guys my extended family. Please let me know if I can help in any way.

Seriously John? Do you have a generator?
I am using my motorhome generator to run electic heaters in the house.
May be back on the grid by the weekend.
I have to pay my own electician to repair the meterbox and run cable back up the side of the houes.

Hey Frank! How are you and your family doing?
(Last in priority: ) How are your cars? I was hoping
a certain 440 would float it's way to CA!

Got hit with a Nor-Easter this morning. Adding insult to a bad injury. Been at this local for the past 33-4 year's. Never saw anything around here like the tide's of Sandy. Living here taught us to be prepared for the worst at all time's. And we were ready. We got stuck in the house between tide's. The tide never receeded and came up so we could'nt leave. The winds were 80-85mph gusting to 115-120 mph. The proximity to the bayfront got us.
Mehh.....We'll get over it.
See some picture's in the Off Topic section. I'll post a few more soon.
After seeing first hand what some people lost......We'll be fine, it's going to take a little while to straighten out though.
Thanks' for your concern :handshak:

That was quite a video you posted. I grew up not far away on Larcmont Harbor in Mamaroneck NY and went through Camille and a number of other pretty fierce hurricanes. Filled a lot of sandbags and pumped a lot of water out of our basement. But seeing your pictures of the cabin crusiers on top of each other and the houses missing, I really feel for you as it is much worse than what I had experienced. More like New Orleans after Katrina. I went down there with a church group to rebuild houses and it was also mighty bad, a lot like what you have gone through. I wish you all the best in your recovery. --Bob

Faith, family, friends, and GREAT KARMA will get you through this. And Vodka! Best wishes to you while you bounce back. :handshak:

I volunteer to make a supply run. :)
My Aunt & Uncle got hit very badly out in West Hampton, or somewhere out there. so I may be doing the commute on the weekends to see if I can help them out. I could drop off the vodka on my way out.

When I see the destruction done by these storms, it just breaks my heart! My thoughts and prayers go out to all you folks hit by Sandy. Being out west, there is not much I can do, but I do contribute to the Red Cross and Humane Society. Good luck and God Bless you!

If you take any help from The Red Cross they will bill you for it.

You ARE kidding, right? Any help? Like water and blankets and food?

You have to give them all your information before they give you any help.
Later on down the road you will receive a bill for food, water and blanket.

For me it is no big deal, if I really need the help; but some people get very angery when they receive their bill!!!

I really hope it covers it all and the rebuild happens fast.
It'll all be brand new soon.
New carpet, new paint etc.
Hope you didn't loose any sentimental irreplaceables.
No mater where each of us lives there's some sort of
mother nature hazard. I learned that when Mt. St Hellens
went off just north of me.
If it aint the firestorms and earth quakes of California
it's tornadoes in the midwest or hurricanes of the golf and east coast.
I resolved some years back to duplicate all my family video and pictures and keep the copies out of town with relatives. I hope I never have to use them.
