A lot of us knew that Paul had some heart trouble; well today he went in to have his surgery.
Everything went fine and he is sleeping at this time. That’s all I know, But I will let you know as soon as Amy gives out the info.
And knowing Paul he will be on the forum soon.

Paul is a private person, I talked to him on Saturday and he never said a word. His wife and my girlfriend are on Facebook that’s how I had learned. I’m still waiting for Amy’s update and as soon as I get it I’ll post.
I had no idea that he had heart trouble.Get well soon Paul!!

That clean country air will do it every time.
Paul is up and breathing at 60% of his lung capacity. And that's good.
So fair wind's ahead !

Frank,
Actually that's why Paul scheduled an FBI Pizza GT last Saturday. It was
kcl's pizza that has fortified Paul for his surgery. ;)

Glad to hear Paul's surgery went well and I too wish him a speedy recovery!
Bet he'll be into some kind of mischief before we know it - fresh valve job and all.

Paul, best wishes....
Resparatory tubes are out. He's breathing on his own again. Way to go Paul !!
Paul's new nickname........THE BIONIC MAN ! Just don't be making him any steaks, till they tell him he has a bovine valve job.
He may have a uncanny eye for a passing cow !

Hi! Just a short note to let everyone know that Paul's surgery went VERY well. He went in with the intention of just getting an aortic valve replaced...but surgery went longer because they found they needed to do a bypass on one of his arteries ( which the Dr. thought might happen). But after an extended period, he did great and last night was able to get the respiratory tube taken out of his throat which really bothered him...today they will get him up and walking and the recovery will be rapid, so I'm told :-)
I want to thank EVERYONE for their prayers and positive thoughts!!! It meant soooo much to Paul that everyone was showing support and wishing him well.
I'll be bringing his phone to him but not sure how much he'll want to talk, I know his brothers wanted to hear from him. But you might give him time to recover a little more so he can get his bearings.
Take care and talk to everyone soon :-)

I know his sutures will hold better than his coolant hose clamps. ;)

Wow!
Just saw this thread on my phone, and am sooo humbled by all of your well wishes!
As you learned here, turned out to be "A bit" more than a valve. (Actually I suspect the surgeon is a "car guy": first "once he got in there, he found one more mod he wanted to do". Then aftrwards made the unsolicited comment that now my heart was like a "new Corvette!")
Well, thanks all. By Thanksgiving I'll be "back".

Don't like hearing this stuff; what's going on now? (1 year of Med School before dropping out ...)

Thank you Sir...
I got Marc's link in the referenced thread.
I like Paul; he's knowledgeable, and want him to know that we all still hope all's well with him there, even a year later.
If bringing up the thread is out of order, I think forum bosses can delete new posts..............
