Guys I went to get out the vette ( 1990) and I opened the door and it automatically locked( I thought thats weird ) I didnt think I pushed anything. I closed the door and the alarm went off, I jumped in and inserted the key( I figured it would read the chip and reset) , Nope .. It wont start / nada.. The aftermarket alarm is roaring as well( which I can shut off. what or how do I reset everything? Thanks Ohh after a minute or so the alarm shut off.. still no start.

Did you the key in the ignition? (On position)
You locked and unlocked the driver door? (That should disable the aftermarket alarm)
What aftermarket alarm do you have?
Could be a vats issue too, if so wait 30 min before turning the ignition

yes I put the key in and tried to start it , It did nothing.. I have a clifford alarm ( aftermarket) I can shut it off
now that I think about it my stereo has a light flashing too .
I'd sure like to know the cause , BEcause it be a B to go for a drive and have it do this.. Thanks I'll wait a 1/2 hour and see what happens..

No !! every time I open the door it starts honking the horn.. Esp inside I had to go get earmuffs .. I know the neighbors are tired of it:) after a minute it shuts off and if I push the door unlock button on the alarm system It sets the alarm off again and no start. I may just disconnect the horns for now..

have you locked and unlocked your drivers side door with the key?
Stick the door key in the door key hole and lock and unlock the door with the key.
That's how you shut down the OE alarm.
The factory alarm needs to see the after market alarm.
If your aftermarket alarm has an output momentary ground (-) you need to connect that to your green wire coming from the door key lock/unlock cylinder, needs to see a momentary ground so it thinks you stuck the key in the door key hole.
You can find the green wire from the bundle of wires coming thru the door to inside under the dash panel drivers side the way to make sure you have the correct wie get your test light put it to hot (+) and the other check the wire and cycle the door lock key light should light up everytime you cycle/unluck the key.
Usually aftermarket alarms should have a dome light output just make sure it's a ground (-)output.
If you need more info let me know.
